i drew this for the @aa4zine2026 which you should go read and see everybody's amazing art of not just turnabout serenade, but all the other aa4 cases as well!!!!!!!!!

timelapse and my initial thumbnail just for fun! had a lot of fun testing out just how fast can i draw something LOL and also using lighting for shading instead of shadows

my piece for the @de-fanzine-cpr-pale zine! the premise for the zine was so sweet and i'm glad i got to draw something celebrating the love we all have for disco elysium 🫁💖 you can download the full zine here (it's free!!!)

i chose the song under pressure bc not only was it an earworm i had during the time i was drawing this, but also because of this lovely edit that ignited some very strong emotions in me! go check it out!!!

i also considered choosing a tagalog song, but to be honest, i'm not much of a music listener so i didn't know enough songs that would've reminded me of disco elysium or had the vibes/inspiration i was looking for. but, oh well!

another inspiration for this drawing was that one sculpture with flowers bursting from its head that people were redrawing, i kind of wanted to capture that but a little differently! instead of drawing flowers, i get to draw one billion trillion disco elysium npcs good god why did i do that to myself

it's actually been a while since i've drawn this i'm trying to remember if i have anything else to say hm hm hmmm oh yea accessories harry's got are the eight-eyed teratorn tie and on the side is the hat he gets from annette! (it's not very obvious, it just looks like a very colorful part of the background too but that was what my idea was anyways pftt) i wanted harry to be wearing things that were out of the little acts of kindness you do in the game.

i haven't read thru the full zine yet bc i've been busy orz but from the pages i flipped through i'm just blown away by everyone's works!!! thanks so much for the mods for organizing this!!

i remember freaking out when i first got the email that i got into the zine, and now a bit of time has passed, i'm absolutely grateful that i was able to draw for it :'^] the mods and my fellow contributors all did such wonderful work to make this zine come to life. i look at the zine on my shelf sometimes and feel like this giddy sense of joy!!! what a wonderful experience it was!

and don't get me started on reading the physical zine for the first time! WOW!!! i mean, listen, that was like back in 2025-ish i think so memory's a bit fuzzy ASKSKS but the feeling of immense joy having the zine in my hands is a feeling i still carry in my heart

i guess i should talk about the drawing now huh (i remember drawing this thumbnail like IMMEDIATELY when the pitches were chosen lol)

again, i started drawing this back in 2024 so like. i might not remember a lot of things i probs wanted to say about it, but i remember learning to paint in the disco elysium style before drawing this. i was doing a buncha portrait studies, learning how to render things in the style (sort of!)

and this was like the first time i ever attempted to paint a full illustration! i'm pretty used to just doing the lineart, coloring in the flats, shading, and yadda yadda but i was a little scared of taking the risk of painting it (something i've never really done in full before) and then it turning out to be ugly in the end....!

BUT THEN IT DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!

i think i'm allowed to have a little pride over this because look at it!!!! this was my favorite thing i ever drew back in 2024 and for a good reason!!!!! i think it looks awesome!!!!!!! RARRGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok enough of that pftt. when i was getting into disco elysium, i've been pretty intrigued about dolores dei ..... her influence on the run-down world of elysium is felt and seen but she has been gone for so, so long...... the way she's deified, turned into a symbol, became something more than human ....... she is loved and she is hated ......... ach! i dunno man, the concept of the innocences drove me a little wild back then, it's so INTERESTING!!

so i wanted to draw a little something about her, the rise and fall of dolores dei. i thought a composition where things blended in together would be a cool way to depict her legacy as well as her connection to the pale.... idk man ....

also really thankful for the people who joined in on the ph order group!!! it's been a while, but shoutout to you guys for supporting the zine :^]

i can't think of anything more to say now. so, go get this zine! if u think my drawin's pretty swell, you should look at the other contributors' works in this zine! i mean, wow, seriously!!!!

you know me, i'm incredibly klapollopilled, of course i'm drawing these two suckers for the wedding zine! <3 something about klapollo marriage makes me incredibly emo so i'm very glad for the opportunity to go all out so i can be EXTRA emo about it 😈

if i remember right, i think this idea came to be when i thought about the image of klavier bursting into tears as he lifts up apollo's veil and it all went from there LOL (also so psyched i get to draw him in a barong tagalog <333)

everything got so much more ambitious, though, from that initial idea! i drew like what (i am counting the number of characters in the spread right now as i type) 40-ISH CHARACTERS ALL IN ALL?! (WHAT THE FUCKDFGDHJ) and i even had to cut out some of the characters i originally had in the sketch 😭 (sorry gumshoe, kay, and seb/eustace ....)

i drew this like a year ago and i'm still so proud of this piece! i don't think i can achieve this level of rendering again, it's been so long i forgot how to do it LMAO

(also i can never reopen the file for this thing again bc it makes clip studio want to dieeeee DFSGHDJ so many layers ...)

another thing, i was working on this in tandem with my piece for the mea culpa zine; do you know how funny it is to draw apollo having such a happy moment and then draw him dying 😭 the contrast, the whiplash

that's all i have to ramble about i think, i'm so so so amazed at this zine bc my zinemates truly made some spectacular pieces of art! :"^D if you have the chance, please do check it out! 💗

DFGHDJKF ok i know, it's evil, the entire zine is evil you should go read it!!!!!!! but also, i remember coming up with this prompt and the image of mikeko trying to wake a dead apollo up evoked such a visceral reaction in me that i audibly went "NOOOOOO" when i thought it up LOL

the fourth page is the first page i ever thumbnailed bc i knew EXACTLY how i wanted this thing to end!

i think my favorite page of this comic is the 2nd page (the 4th page being my second favorite bc what can i say, i'm evil wheezes) i just really enjoyed drawing the montage of apollo going about his life and kristoph just. being there. always watching him.

i keep thinking about how spark brushel mentioned feeling like he was being watched those past 7 years. i imagined apollo would get a taste of that once he starts trying to find out the truth behind what happened in his first case.

and as for my favorite panel, I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE!! it's just fun shoving every important element alluding to the case 7 years ago to the moment when zak died!

and it's not very obvious but an element i really like about this one is zak still on the chair he died on. it's just his torso visible and i would've loved to make it more obvious that he's there but oh well.

i can't think of anything else to add about drawing this so i'll end it by saying: PLEASE GO READ THE ZINE, IT'S SO SOS SOSOSOS FULL OF LOVE FOR HURT AND TRAGEDY AND THE WAY MY FELLOW ZINEMATES EXPLORED THAT IS SUCH!!! GOOD AND HEARTWRENCHING STUFF!!!!!!!!!

i had to take a break from reading the zine when i went out to finish it bc my chest started to physically hurt bc ohhhhh lordy, it just hurt. it just hurt a lot! (please do read the trigger warnings before reading the thing bc this zine deals with a lot of heavy stuff!)

i like to joke about how i'm evil and enjoy evil things such as angst no comfort which. well, it's kind of true LMAO so i'm thrilled that i was able to be a part of this zine and cook up something completely terrible <3
