Katara swallowed the burning sensation in her chest and carried on , because that's what everyone [ [ needed ] ] her to do . She needed to be what [ [ they ] ] needed in their lives . For Zuko , that was a genuine friend , who valued him regardless of the mistakes he made in the past . For Toph , it was a big sister , who valued her voice just as much as she valued her talent . Aang . . . For Aang , it was being his family — someone he could always turn to , no matter the situation . For Sokka , it was being [ [ his ] ] mother as a favor for their birth mother risking her life to give Katara hers . And , for herself. . . ?

Her eyes dipped [ [ slightly ] ] into her basket of ingredients for dinner , her fingers stalling against the woven frame . ❝ I guess it does , but there's lots of things that make people strong . You carry your burdens . You keep going , and doing everything you can to see the sunrise . That makes you strong , too . The way you keep going , despite being worried about what the world will throw at you , is also a strong trait . Not everyone keeps moving forward like you do . And , honestly , it's a really noble trait to have . You care a lot , Xiong . ❞ She smiled , at last , lifting her eyes to his .

Sokka slowed just inside the doorway, eyes glancing briefly toward the cells before settling back on Xiong. “If this were about you, I’d have brought at least three Kyoshi Warriors and a very official looking clipboard,” he said, folding his arms across his chest. “Didn’t, though. So… not about you. I’ve got questions for you, though,” he added, his tone level but unmistakably firm. “About why you’ve been laying low with the Kyoshi Warriors this whole time. But that’s not why I’m here. Not today.”

His gaze shifted again, lingering a second longer this time in Maliq’s direction. He exhaled through his nose, the humor fading just enough to show the worry underneath. “I’m here because nobody’s told me anything,” he said plainly. “And silence usually means somebody’s either covering their tracks or doesn’t know what they’re doing yet.”

His jaw set harder then as his eyes stayed fixed forward, the anger in them was coiled tight. “Gilak doesn’t get that close to taking over Wolf Cove and killing my father without help.” At Xiong’s request, Sokka’s brows knit together. He didn’t argue; he rarely did when it came to security, but his fingers flexed against his bicep like he was holding himself back. “I hear you. Really. I get the logic. Doesn’t mean I like it.” He straightened, his gaze cut back to Maliq’s cell, “What I care about is this being done right. Maliq standing trial and answering for what he helped set in motion.”

A veces no se dan las cosas como queremos para que seamos agradecidos con lo que estamos viviendo. Soñaba con irme a México. Necesitaba cambiar de aire, vivir nuevas experiencias.
