Still feeling sore and drained, but my muses for my boys are very high as usual. The dip in activity isn't from a lack of wanting to write. I feel really bad when I'm not able to reply to everyone equally, so I default to replying to no one. I'm working on being ok with just replying to what's sparking joy on days like this where I'm feeling a handful of interactions over others. If I'm not replying to you, it isn't personal. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy what we have. This is just my brain in the middle of a lupus flair giving me hard brain fog and me trying to find some joy for myself in the middle of it.

People keep underestimating Sokka's intellegence because he's funny. That's fine. Keep underestimating him. Keep thinking he just comedic relief.

If this was how he wanted to play , then who was she to stop him ?

❝ No , no . You're right , rules are rules . And , a Warrior . . . ❞ her fingers found the hem of her shirt then she pulled up , exposing her chest binding , with the rest of her torso bare . ❝ . . . Never breaks her word . ❞ She threw her shirt | | somewhere | | in the room , then leaned back on her hands as she looked at the tower with her own playful smirk dancing across her lips .

❝ Your turn , Mr . Warrior . ❞

The moment her shirt hit the floor somewhere behind her, every thought in Sokka’s head seemed to trip over itself. His grin vanished and was replaced by a completely genuine look of being caught off guard before he huffed out a laugh under his breath. “Okay,” he muttered, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck and biting down on his bottom lip. The warmth in his eyes deepened as they gazed at her for a moment longer before returning to the tower.

Sokka shifted closer to the tower and inspected the layers like a battlefield commander preparing for war. His fingers nudged one piece until it finally slid loose into his hand.

“There we go,” he declared triumphantly before turning the block over and the confidence in his expression disappeared instantly. “Oh, you have got to be kidding me.” He stared at the words for a second, then slowly tipped the block around so Suki could read it herself.

Take off your pants.

A bark of incredulous laughter escaped him as he looked up at her again. “Alright, now this feels targeted somehow, and I made the game.” He shook his head dramatically, though the crooked smile tugging at his mouth gave him away completely.

Still, rules were rules.

“Guess rules are rules,” he sighed with exaggeration as his fingers moved to undo the ties at his waist, as he pushed himself to his feet and stepped out of his pants entirely before tossing them aside to join the growing pile on the floor, settling back into his spot across from her, one eyebrow lifting as a grin spread across his face once more.

“Your move, Suki.”

The smell of fresh bread and sugar hit Sokka before he even stepped through the door of Wen Bakery, filling the warm air with a rich and inviting scent that immediately made him question why he'd only ordered the mango fruit tarts Katara had specifically requested.

Experience had taught him that showing up empty-handed to see his pregnant sister was a quick way to earn a lecture about thoughtfulness and family values. Bringing dessert was easier. Besides, Aang would probably eat three before dinner. The thought made him grin to himself as he approached the counter.

His attention shifted when he noticed @jintletealeaf helping customers. She was cute. Very cute. Not that he was staring. He was a grown man. A councilman, even. Councilmen didn't stare. But eyes immediately drifted back in her direction. Okay, maybe he was staring a little.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. Maybe it was the bakery and the smell of pastries or he was just in an unusually good mood. Whatever the reason, he found himself looking forward to picking up the order a little more than he had thirty seconds ago.

When his turn came, he stepped forward and rested an elbow against the counter. "Hi. I'm here for a pickup order. Sokka." His smile widened slightly. "The fruit tarts. Which, for the record, aren’t for me. I'm just performing an important brotherly duty." He leaned back slightly, amusement lingering in his blue eyes.

Republic City was full of surprises and today, apparently, one of them worked at a bakery.

He let out a quiet huff of amusement through his nose. “That's still weird to hear.” The corner of his mouth twitched upward as he glanced toward her.  “I visit plenty,” he protested, his gaze lingering on her for a moment before he shook his head. “Though, I guess I could come by more.”

Republic City had plenty to offer outside of council business, with its terrible street food, bustling shopping district, and pro bending. But when Toph said it, he found himself thinking less about the city and more about the person standing in front of him, which was dangerous train of thought. So naturally, he covered it with humor.

“Somebody has to make sure you haven't started any underground fight clubs lately.” He paused. “Again.” A grin spread across his face, “And maybe it would be nice to spend more time with you.”
