original concept art for breaker, my sci-fi cowboy working undercover as a soldier while collecting and couriering hard information for an independant anti-establishment archive. might redesign his mask/suit but I think these sketches are interesting

also yes, more than happy to share more about r60!

r60 is a medic, but that's not what he was designed to be. he's the alpha model for a new line of androids corvus (a major robotics company) was developing as part of a secret military project. his first memories are of alpha-testing in their labs, much of it overseen by the head programmer on the project and a virtuoso of sorts, lyra. he wasn't functioning to their standards for the project, partially because lyra had made him too compassionate and not obedient enough, and he failed enough of his testing that they were going to scrap him and start over. lyra, having grown very attached to him and also having lots of complicated guilt about her role with corvus, broke a whole ton of rules to partially reset him with a medic program and remove a bunch of his inhibitors before setting him free and telling him to run from corvus and try to do good in the world. so he was very quickly thrust into the big wide world with only the objectives to help people and stay alive. since he was severed from corvus' networks, he did all his learning on his own, which was/is difficult and messy for him, and lead to him having some very particular patterns, preferences, and limitations. overall, he really just wants to help people and is happy when he's able to do so.

some other things about him:

- he's very fond of and fascinated by animals, and took up veterinary medicine as something akin to a "hobby"

- he is very anti-violence in general, influenced both by his medic programming to do no harm as well as his experiences, and is quite uncomfortable with weapons. even so, because of his original purpose, subprograms, and hard-wiring, he is capable of and skilled in combat, violence, and killing, which is a difficult thing for him to wrestle with

- he runs primarily on a self-rechargeable battery system that requires a "sleep mode," so he does sleep (related fun fact: that battery system was designed and made by an engineering team headed by none other than reid breaker)

- he is extremely fond of babies. he doesn't get to interact with children much in general but has helped with deliveries before and he was ecstatic, he loves hanging out with babies and kids

- his medic programming comes with a special "soothing voice" that involves frequencies that are meant to calm people down. it's not very sound science and is mostly sci-fi bullshit but I think it's a fun concept

- he has a complex relationship with another character called bloodhound, a bounty hunter android deployed by corvus to track and haul in r60, dead or alive. he is constantly on the run from her and doing what he can to impede her, but also doesn't want any harm to come to her, as he wouldn't want harm to come to any other person. he knows it just her programming, and he has what could be called a saviour complex when it comes to her
