It’s a little cliche, I know, but I’m told I bear some resemblance here...
Climbing out of the water, Chase jogged back up the beach to where his towel and things were sitting. “Oh wow, thank you!” he said, noticing someone had sat his bag atop the towel. Apparently the winds in Sunset today were whipping up a bit and he figured his towel would be in the water - or lost - if they hadn’t done that. “It would be a long, wet ride back to the B&B where I’m saying if that had gotten away!”
It was the same routine he always did. Rise at 5am, shower, eat, dress, head to work. It never hurt that his commute was a ride down the elevator, either. As manager of the Seasons Resort and Spa at Sunset he got one of the top rooms in the hotel section as one of the perks. But Jaylen had a bigger duty that he followed, believing that hospitality service was a great form of welcoming someone and making this their home away from home. Making them come back again and again and certainly, spend that green in Sunset. The morning had gone well so far, a fair stream of people checking in and out as appropriate, a few issues, but nothing major. He’d just returned from inspecting the pool facilities when he noticed no one at the desk. “Where did that boy get off to?” he asked himself, looking around briefly before stepping outside of the front of the resort and onto the city sidewalk. “Excuse me,” he said to the first person passing by. “Have you seen a young man about this tall, dressed like a monkey with a bellboy hat and all?” asked Jaylen, holding his hand up to his chest height. He was a very tall man. “I wonder if he’s run off too. Maybe the hats are too much for people to wear...”
