At 8:30am, as the N train approached the 36th St. station in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, a man muttering to himself donned a gas mask, tossed two smoke grenades onto the floor of a crowded subway train and platform and started shooting 33 times. 10 people were shot. Many more were rushed to the hospital. Like me, many New Yorkers were left in a state of catatonic panic.
