There were a few times so far where Sunshine just runs top speed into one of her parents for a hug, so I thought it'd be fun to draw heh

Recently, I read a lovely Touhou fanfic called "The Dollmaker's Daughter" by @rabbiteclair where a Shanghai doll achieves sentience, names herself "Sunshine" and becomes Alice & Marisa's daughter~ I really enjoyed it so I had to make some fanart!

Challenged myself to "speedrun" some manga pages based on a part from "The Dollmaker's Daughter" and not be perfectionist about it. Thought it turned out nicely~

Not sure if it warrants another post, but I redid some parts of my "The Dollmaker's Daughter" fanart with newer water colour and recoloured lineart (last time's was way too strong tbh)

Sunshine is a great character. the ways that she slowly gains her own identity over the course of the opening few chapters is really interesting to watch! I was fully expecting this fanfic to just be "Marisa and Alice had a kid, here's what that's about" but the opening of this is an exploration of Sunshine becoming a person through observation. it's deeply interesting! this one is definitely worth a read, Sunshine is one of my new favorite Touhou characters.
