Been on something of a Contra kick this week, and found there's a new hack that combined Contra and Super C into a single 16-stage game. Interesting side effect of this is finding out the names of the stages in Super C, according to the English instruction manual:

Tropics of Torture (Stage 3), Massacre Mountains (Stage 5), Red Falcon's Poison Palace (Stage 8) - Wordier than the names of stages in the original games, but otherwise totally solid.

Radioactive Lava Fields (Stage 7) - I wouldn't think to describe the level where you're descending into the alien hive as being a "Radioactive Lava Field", but still fine.

Lair of the Jungle Aliens (Stage 4) - Again, weird, because this level looks more like a laboratory with a lot of mechanized defenses and a long elevator section, but I guess it works.

Gates of Fort Fire Storm (Stage 1) - Perfectly descriptive, and that suggests the second stage will be "Fort Fire Storm"

Fort Fire Storm's Warped Mind Command Center (Stage 2) - Huh.

Jagger Froid's Fruit-of-the-Doom Defense Line (Stage 6) - What the fuck?
