What do you think about season 12 episode 7- Super Fun Time? (I thought of a random season and episode but it turned out to be a good one lol)
A great one - this is one of my faves!
★ Do I like this episode? Why or why not?
Oh, I love it. I love South Park episodes that really capture what it feels like to be a kid/adolescent. They nail that here both in the way the kids refuse to engage with the bad historical acting of the villagers and in Butters' Terminator-like dedication to obeying teacher's orders, even to the point of putting himself and Cartman in mortal peril. I strongly relate to Butters' commitment to staying out of trouble due to being punished so often for things he didn't even know were infractions in the eyes of his parents.
★ Favorite moment?
Probably the way Butters slaps Cartman so pitifully? And then later SWINGS this obese child around by the wrist to knock over one of the robbers????
I also love that Stan speaks historical reenactment dork fluently enough to whip out that speech. He knew exactly what he was doing with "Hey, murderin' Murphy - you see that there feller? He done k!lled yer paw."
★ Least favorite moment?
Naw, man, it's all good.
★ Do I have an unpopular opinion about this episode? What is it?
I recall it being well-received and little else, so, no, I don't think so. I'm not a big fan of Crenny, and obviously the hand-holding is significant to that ship, but I honestly can't tell how popular Crenny or anti-Crenny is. I'm not even anti-Crenny - I like a platonic or fwb Crenny situation just fine - I just have terminal Creek brainrot. Please, if anyone knows a cure, I'm desperate here lol
★ Something I would change?
A couple of the robbers have what sound like a terrible attempt at a German accent. I would do a slightly better German accent.

★ Anything else I want to say about this episode?
I like when Butters puts up a fight and this isn't the only episode where he does it. "The Magic Bush" (S18E05) shows Butters putting up maybe his strongest resistance to Cartman, though he also spurns him in "Oh Jeez" (S20E07), and gets him good in the end in "AWESOM-O" (S08E05). During the cruddier episodes of the mid-teen seasons, Butters felt very flanderized, just some little wiener pushover kid, and he was often a mouthpiece for hack jokes. So it was good to see his dynamic with Cartman in the two recent specials. It felt complicated and not as one-sided as it sometimes was when they were kids. The end where he cusses him out reminded me of the ending of "Christian Rock Hard" (S07E09). Here's to more interesting Butters character development!
