hoh gerard + adhd frank who both struggle with anxiety and depression. sweethearts in love. supporting each other. making life wonderful by sharing it with each other and creating beautiful things

gerard talks to his ghost pal even more now that he feels like he really isn't talking to himself and frank still talks back and it thrills frank but also saddens him unbelievably. one night he's watching gerard sleep and as he watches his beautiful face, soft with sleep, frank feels lonelier than he ever has in his life, and his afterlife, and he whispers 'i wish you could hear me' and realizes that if he could cry he would be right now

eventually gerard notices that the doors arent banging but opening for him and his meds always seem to be laid out for him and he never remembers doing it so he starts suspecting there actually is a ghost there and the next time frank opens a door for him he says 'well thank you' with this sweet little smile and franks nonexistent heart melts and he can't shake the feeling that in another life, some other universe maybe, he and gerard were meant to be together

lonely ghost frank who haunts an old mansion that successful but also lonely artist gerard moves into and gerard being gerard doesn't get freaked out by the ghostly activity thats going on he starts the pretend that theres someone there (little does he know that hes actually right) and talks to them and frank talks back but gerard never hears it and they kinda keep each other company and frank thinks hes adorable and falls in love with him, as much as a ghost can love a living human being anyway

do you ever think about how the music and the message that frank makes grew up with us? like mcr was so overt in saying "sometimes your life is fucked up but it will be okay, you will get through it, you will survive" and that was exactly what so many of us needed at that point, was just someone to recognize that we weren't okay, but tell us that someday we could be. and then we got older and we started to realize that we'd survived but we still weren't better, and i feel like parachutes

and stomachaches are kind of a new message for us now, like frank's way of saying "sometimes you make it through to the other side and find out the other side is still kind of shitty. i'm right there with you. but we can keep going and hoping we find something that really is better" and /that/ is exactly what all of us disillusioned 20-somethings need right now and idek where i'm going with this but i just feel like frank is the best at knowing how to say what we need to hear and i love him

i read this before i went in for my shift earlier and like..i thought about it the whole time it’s so good and so dead on and im glad you articulated it so well.

virgin frank and gerards first time going much better than expected and the next morning gerard makes breakfast and hes leaning against the counter and frank shuffles in and gives him a small smile and gerards like "hey, come here" and pulls frank in and frank snuggles into his chest and they stand there together in the kitchen enjoying eachothers presence (until they have to pull apart so none of the food burns)

gerard waking up from a nightmare and hes breathing hard and frank pulls him close and kisses his forehead and nose and all over his face and shushes him and tells him its gonna be okay and when gerard calms down and looks at him his eyes are red and full of tears and frank kisses him softly and gerard is so thankful he has the sweetest most caring bf ever hes dreading the next nightmare but he knows he'll wake up into safe and loving arms and everything will b ok
