The Teledyne Continental High Performance "Super M60" prototype during trials at The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia, October 1981.
Put briefly, the "Super M60" was an upgrade for the M60 offered by Teledyne Continental Motors' General Products Division. It offered increased levels of armor protection, a much more powerful engine, improved transmission, a lower profile cupola, while also incorporating the AN/VVS-2 thermal imaging system and AN/VVG-2 laser rangefinder from the M60A3 TTS. Only one prototype was ever made due to a lack of orders or interest domestically and internationally.
