I never, ever, ever want to leave Amherst. I absolutely love it here and hate to think of leaving it behind for some other sorry excuse for a town. I never want to be far from Bueno y Sano and the High Horse. I want to be able to go to Tunnel Bar any time I choose. I never want to miss trivia night at the Harp, because no other trivia night is themed women's history or pirate night. I never want to be out of reach of 91.1 WMUA and miss Trigger Radio or 93.9 the River and miss Funky Friday. I never want to live more than five miles from a Trader Joe's, like I did growing up. I want to always have education all around me - colleges, universities, public and private high schools, non-profit educational organizations. No bar can ever stand up to the barcade at Quarters that offers Dig Dug and plays Talking Heads and serve brussels sprouts with chipotle mayo. Where else do you find something like that? And the best part is that this isn't a city - there's no crime, there's no traffic, there's always a farm within walking distance. I get to participate in these wonderful activities when I want to, and then I'm left quietly alone when I don't. I never want to leave this weird little perfect place.
