i don’t know shit about world building, character building, and story telling but since i’m watching smallville, i cant help but notice that they seem to not know how to weave storylines or have a large amount of characters on supergirl.
maybe it’s cause i’m watching it week to week but on supergirl everything feels jilted? like characters are underused and forgotten until they are Absolutely Needed.
on smallville you never feel like a character is forgotten. the main characters and the supporting are kinda equally used and helpful to the main character BUT they also have separate storylines, you feel?
like while Chloe, Pete, and Lana may not be the centre of attention you still feel their presence. but in supergirl if J’onn or James or Winn or Lena or Alex seemingly aren’t needed it feels like they’re just... gone and you’re sitting there wondering why they aren’t here, was there no way to make them useful?
sg seems to have a problem with juggle their pretty large roster of characters and they need to pull it back a bit. they have multiple plots that have no answers but they decided to have this worldkiller plot, adding 3 “villains” to the list of 7 main cast people. when they could’ve dealt with a cadmus and anti alien plot that they left in the dust for daxam alien invasion in s2??? and also where’s jeremiah. lmao.
