NFAND Episode 16 - Eduardo Alegria, performance artists, writer, dancer, band leader by Notes From A Native Daughter In our conversation Eduardo Alegría and I talk about his marvelous-marvelous “novelette” album Se Nos Fue La Mano, queer identity, Boy George, the national voice of Puerto Rico Lucecita Benítez, dressing up and dressing down, and I add two songs. One at the beginning, Poneletreros and at the end El Recipiente/Tsunami. An artist with over 20-years of track record, he was the lead male vocalist of the indie-rock band Superaquello. I don’t like to compare, but for reference sake, I’d say that Eduardo Alegría is Puerto Rico’s Miguel Bosé. Se Nos Fue La Mano, his “novelette,” as he calls it, nails the profound quagmire that is engulfing Puerto Rico today like no other artistic piece I’ve ever come across. Se Nos Fue La Mano is powerful, profound, poetic, and a Spanish indie-rock GEM for the ages.
