Obsessed with baby Clark and Bruce falling in love…soo naturally, here’s more (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
They first meet when they’re around 5-6, back when Bruce’s parents are still alive. From the moment they’re introduced, they instantly gravitate toward each other. They spend all their time playing, completely wrapped up in each other, while the Kents and the Waynes watch from a distance as their babies grow absolutely smitten.
Clark thinks Bruce is the cutest boy ever. Everything about him is just so darn cute! His smile, his laugh, the way he says Clark’s name, gosh it makes Clark’s tummy feel all funny. He doesn’t really understand it, just knows he wants to stay as close as he possibly can. He wants to keep making Bruce giggle like that.
And Bruce, well, he thinks Clark is very handsome. He doesn’t say it out loud much, but every time Clark looks at him, bright and warm and so sure, Bruce can feel his cheeks burn every time. It makes him all quiet and shy, fidgeting with his hands, still he never wants Clark to stop talking! He wants to stay close, as much as he’s physically allowed. He wants to keep making Clark shine like that.
Every time they finish playing and it’s time to part ways, they squeeze each other tightly, cheeks squished together, their tiny hands clutching at the fabric of their shirts as they promise to see each other again the next day. But unfortunately, the Waynes can’t stay for much longer.
When they’re given the news that they would only have two more days together, neither boy takes it well. They cling to each other, even throwing little tantrums-until Clark suddenly gets an idea. He grabs Bruce’s hand and drags him off, absolutely determined. He takes bruce to a nearby creek. It’s beautiful-wildflowers are everywhere, dragonflies flitting about, and the soft sound of the water flowing makes it the perfect spot. From his pocket, he pulls out a cheap plastic ring he’d won from one of those toy capsule vending machines at the dentist. With complete sincerity, Clark asks Bruce to marry him. Bruce, already giggling and flushed, says yes without hesitation. Clark, of course leans in to kiss his cheek, but before he can, their parents find them. What starts as a moment of surprise quickly melts into something softer. The boys are just so happy, so serious in their affection, how could they not indulge them, just a little? What’s the harm?
So, the day before Bruce has to leave Smallville, they’re given a wedding of their own. It’s a small ceremony held in the barn, just Bruce, Clark, their parents, Alfred, and Clark’s favorite calf.
The night before, the boys had stayed up together making flower crowns for each other. Now those crowns rest slightly crooked atop their heads as they stand hand in hand. They’re laughing the whole way through, swaying back and forth on their heels as they try to say their vows. It might sound and look silly but it’s too genuine and pure it brings tears to each their mother’s eyes.
Finally, when they hear, “You may kiss the groom,” they both turn into blushing messes. Clark notices Bruce shrinking into himself, shy under all the attention, and immediately puffs up. He demands everyone turn around yes even the cow because they’re making his wifey squirm, he won’t allow it!
Once he’s sure no one is looking, Clark presses the biggest, proudest kiss to Bruce’s cheek, then quickly points to his own so Bruce can return it. It’s quick, a little clumsy but to Clark, it’s perfect. They take dozens of pictures afterward, Bruce very adamant that every single one has to come out just right. Clark doesn’t really mind, he thinks they all look perfect but whatever makes Bruce happy. When Bruce is finally satisfied, they celebrate with a nice dinner.
If they were inseparable before, it’s nothing compared to now. They refuse to sit apart, squeezed together on the same chair, their hands not once letting go since walking down the aisle together. Clark insists on feeding Bruce himself because, as his husband, it’s his duty to make sure Bruce doesn’t have to lift a finger. Bruce, in turn, does his best to keep Clark clean, wiping at his face as Clark shovels food with his non-dominant hand.
When they’re done, they run off to play again, tumbling into more chaos, and eventually fall asleep in their fort, wrapped in each other’s arms-completely forgetting that tomorrow brings a goodbye.
In the morning, as tears run down their cheeks-all red and puffy, Martha Kent and Martha Wayne almost regret indulging them the night before. Bruce and Clark don’t fully understand what their little hearts are feeling. All they know is that it hurts and that they don’t want to let go.
Clark can’t watch as Bruce drives away, hiding in the barn where, just the day before, he had married the prettiest boy he’d ever seen. Bruce, for his part, can’t bring himself to look back, leaving behind the kindest boy he’s ever met.
