All of the angel politics and bsery parallels the S5 observer stuff so much. Those two incredible beings didn't stand a chance against empathy for humanity, rebelling was their destinies. What is fringe about? Should I watch it since I loved Buffy and Supernatural?

You should definitely watch it.

It’s my favorite show that I have ever watched.

Like Buffy, it has a really strong female protagonist.  & Olivia’s put thru hell - think Winchesters style hell [I mean of course those are very basic ways of thinking, but I’m helping you form links.]  Supernatural deals with unknown, altho supernatural, events that usually need to be solved - Fringe has that, albeit with more science.  Buffy deals with a female currently thrust into situations, like saving the world & what-not, & Olivia more than rises to that occasion.  There’s Team Free Will & there’s our Fringe team - who also found themselves on free will [hay when you get to that 5th season tho.]  & there are angel-like beings in the form of Observers.  & there are demon-like beings in the form of whoever concocts this weird ass thing into existence.

I’m not sure how much of the plot has been spilled since you’ve been following me - I’m not sure you have any of my tags tumblr saviored away or anything - but hopefully you don’t know TOO much, or something that might spoil your first-time experience.  [I literally have no idea how much you’ve seen.  You might have seen EVERYTHING, or maybe very little.  IDK.]

The Pilot is one of the strongest pilots I have ever watched & will probably STILL hold that place in my heart years from now.  Fringe deals with so many themes that are compelling to a variety of people across different audiences.  There are the romantic elements, yes, with Peter & Olivia - who will do literally ANYTHING for each other.  So if you want that, you’ll get it.  There are themes that deal highly with philosophy - so if you want “intellectualism,” there’s that, too: nature versus nurture; the needs of the few, the many, or the one; utilitarianism or Kierkegaardian-style ethics; the ethics that deal with experiments on others, especially those who are younger & incapable of giving consent; God complexes & do we have the right to pursue them?; etc.  In the midst of so much science & science fiction [which people love & adore this show that gives that to them] - alternate universes, time travel, fringe science, mutations, mad scientist plots - it is a very human & relateable show focusing on relationships.  There are fathers & sons, mothers & daughters, spouses, & people meeting their doubles.  It’s a unique experience that many shows have not attempted.  Fringe really is about human emotions: love & what we’ll do to protect it; forgiveness & what drives us to crave it & how we eventually receive it; loss & how we deal with it; & sacrifice & how the best of us, regardless of our intelligence or our abilities, will choose it.

Just give it a try.  Fringe deserves a try.
