Guys! I’ve announced as a Cosplay Guest at Superior_Con  on April 13th!

I’m bringing some panels with me, and I’ll be selling prints! Come find me, I’d love to meet all of you! 

Also, in honor of my father and all the other brave people who fight Pancreatic Cancer every day, I’ll be donating half of whatever I make from my print sales to Project Purple. 

It’s gunna be a blast guys! I’ll see you there!

Superior Con Committee Spotlight

Rose Stierna @cosplay.roseish , Vice Con Chairperson and Cosplayers Unite Representative Rose is studying Psychology and English Writing majors at NMU and is the current vice president of Cosplayers Unite. She’s been cosplaying for approximately five years and has a serious anime addiction. If she had to pick a video game series to be stuck playing for the rest of her life, she said Dragon Age would be her little pocket of the virtual world. “Helping run Superior Con last year was one of my favorite experiences when it comes to all the conventions I’ve been to. I never thought I’d be one of the people orchestrating an anime convention, but I don’t regret it at all.”

Em Shirilla, Con Chairperson

Em is a double major in sociology and anthropology at NMU, and is the current president of Cosplayers Unite. She loves cosplay and cartoons, and her favorite series is Fire Emblem. "The first Superior Con was a greater success than I could have ever hoped for. I never would have pictured myself running an entire convention, but Superior Con has definitely become my baby and I can't wait to see it grow in the future"

"Our mission is to give all the students of NMU a safe space to enjoy animation in all of it’s forms and appreciate it through conversations on the messages it can hold. What we do each Sunday night is we watch an episode of six different shows that our members chose at the start of the semester, watching one episode of each week until semester end. Then we break and around 8:45, I’ll present on a topic, such as this past weekend’s presentation on Cultural Depictions in Animation, featuring Disney/Pixar’s Coco. Then at 9:00 we watch the animated film of the night, which we watched Coco this weekend. We’re always looking for new members and are always open to anyone coming in, even if it’s just for the shows or movies. We start at 6p on Sunday Nights in Jamrich Rm. 1313. Northern Duelist Academy is responsible for Superior Con's TCG room, and hosted two Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments last year. Check them out again at Superior Con 2019!
