i don't think that a fairy in ordinary circumstances would end up on my doorstop - there's a huge lake that eats people just a few hours north why would they ever leave - but our assumptions about their behaviour are much less definitely established than walrii and i wouldn't presume to know the mind of one of the good people

i think people who haven't been around Superior don't really understand how much of the local folklore is some permutation of "oh yeah, the lake eats people, don't worry about it"

i must stress that the lake not only eats people but also preserves their bodies from the elements for an extended period. like a spider.
