Positivity Week - Day One

Idea from this lovely person and their post!

Okay, day one!

“What made you subscribe/what do you like about Mark/Jack/Felix?”

Well, I haven’t subscribed to Felix, because again, his style just doesn’t click with me.  I still support him and respect him for what he does, however.  I like how he’s willing to push boundaries, yet still be able to realize when he’s in the wrong and apologize for it.  He’s also a good person, and I respect him a lot.

I technically didn’t subscribe to Mark or Jack until recently, as I didn’t have the account to do so, but I’ve been watching their videos regularly since February of last year (one year here woot!).

I found Mark first, through friends that had been telling me to check out his channel.  I believe the first video series of Mark’s (possibly even the first video) that I watched was his Slime Rancher series.  I absolutely loved it, and him.  His hair was still blue back then, and he was wearing his turtlenecks and his sweaters and such.  He was funny, nice, and he had a great voice too.  I’ve been watching ever since. And he’s from the bestest state ever, Ohio.  Who needs LA when you have Cincinnati, amirite?  He also has ideals and ideas that I share, and he’s not afraid to state them.

Side note - I met the glorious, beautiful, and awesome @ed0398 through Mark.  We were sitting next to each other in 8th grade science class, bored out of our minds because while the teacher was awesome (bless u Mr. Lord), he had to go over things we already knew.  Ellie and I got to talking, and somehow Mark came up, and boom new best friend.  We’ve been besties ever since!  Love ya, bud. :3

I found Jack either through Ellie or through Mark, I can’t remember which.  If it was through Ellie, then she told me about the channel in science class and then I went and looked at it at home.  If it was through Mark, I was probably watching a collab video of some sort and I was like “who’s this green-haired dude???????” and clicked on his channel and then boom jacksepticeye.  Either way, I found Jack’s channel and loved it almost as quickly as I loved Mark’s channel.  He’s loud, he’s funny, and an all-around great guy.  He’s quick-witted and chipper, and he always brightens up my day.

Okay!  Day one done!  Six more to go!  I just hope that this spreads at least a little positivity around!

Positivity Week :)

This idea came from this lovely person and their post!

What it is that it’s similar to the Boss Week thing that happened a few weeks ago, just so we can spread positivity in this confusing and hateful time in the community.

There’s a SUPERSEPTIC version, a SUPERIPLIER version, and a Pewdssupport version.  I’ll try to answer all three of them the best I can, but since I’m not a regular viewer of Felix’s content, there won’t be as much for him on here.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t support him!  I support him, and give him credit for what he does.  His style of videos simply doesn’t click with me.  Yet I still respect him, and will give him positivity through all of this.

There are seven days in this, and I’m almost too late to do day one, but not quite yet.  I’ll do each day in a new post, so that way you don’t have to scroll for so long to either see the new edition to the week or just to skip the post entirely if that’s not something you want to see.

Positivity Week - Day Three

Okay, Day Three!

IT’S NOT LATE WOOT

“What is your favourite quote of Mark/Jack/Felix and why?”

Ooooohhhhhh gosh.

TheRE ARE SO MANY GOOD QUOTES

I’m thinking I’ll pick one for each, and explain why I like it.

Felix!  I can finally do a prompt with him!

This is a quote that I like from him:

“Live your own life and fuck everyone else and just be fucking happy.”

I like it because it just has a good message, and it’s said in a no-nonsense way, I guess.  It sounds nice and it makes me feel nice. :)

A quote that I love from Jack is:

“As I keep saying, if I can make one person smile in this entire planet from the types of videos that I can make, then I will consider it a success. I will consider it a job well done. If I can make someone feel less lonely, if I can brings someones attention away from some of the hardships that are going on in their lives or if I can just boost someones mood even greater than it already is, then that’s absolutely fantastic because I know that is what Youtube has done for me.”

I love this quote because it shows how much Jack loves doing YouTube.  I’m not saying that Mark, Felix or anyone else doesn’t love doing YouTube, as the two of them have also said similar things, but I just loved it when Jack said it, as it seems to be a recurring theme in his channel.  Throughout all of the hate that has been spewed at him and the community throughout the years, Jack has been able to stay true to what he believes, and has been able to return to why he originally wanted to make his channel.  He sees how much he’s impacted so many people, and wants to keep making an impact, no matter how small.  He has so much dedication to his channel, and he has such a positive outlook on life.  Even now, though all of this bullshit that’s been happening in the past week, Jack has been able to stay positive and look on the bright side of things. Again, I’m not saying that Mark or Felix or anyone else doesn’t have similar feelings towards their channel, or that they aren’t positive or whatever.  I’m just picking this for Jack because this is a recurring theme in his channel.

A quote that I really love from Mark is this:

“I need you too believe in yourself. I need you to tell yourself that you are fearless in whatever you do. Even if you feel like your idea is stupid or your passions don’t matter, that is a lie. I really hope you guys believe me when I say I care about what you guys do and who you are. I will tell you til the end of my days that I believe in you guys and I know that what you do matters. Your dreams matter and your passions matter. Once you find something that you are passionate about and that you burn for, you need to pursue it with reckless abandon, because people will tell you that you can’t for as long as you’re trying to do something and they are wrong. Don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t important, and definitely don’t tell yourself that. No matter how tough things may seem right now, they can get better. With every fiber of my being, I believe in you.”

I could have chosen a quote of Mark’s that was fun and exciting, like “I’M THE KING OF THE SQUIRRELS!!!”, but then it just wouldn’t feel right to me.  The first thing that I fell in love with when I found Mark was his voice.  His voice was so calming, I felt like I could listen to it all day, every day.  I still feel like that today.  But again, when I found Mark, I was beginning to go through the time of oh shit feelings are a thing, and I didn’t know what to do.  When I heard Mark say this and things like it, it calmed me and inspired me to do more.  I felt (and still feel like sometimes today) that no one cared about me, no one believed in me.  To hear Mark say that so genuinely, with all of his heart, it pulled me back together and pushed me back up.  That’s why I really do love this quote of his.

Positivity Week - Day Four

Continuing the week of positivity thought of by this lovely person!

Day four time!  It’s a long one today!

“What is your favourite video of Mark/Jack/Felix?”

Again, therE ARE SO MANY GOOD CHOICES AAAHHH

Even though I don’t watch Felix’s material a whole lot, as I have said numerous times and will continue to say, I do have two favorite videos by him. :)  Those are the WHO’S MORE LIKELY TO...? video and the BOTTLEFLIP CHALLENGE! video.

I like the Who’s More Likely To video just because of how chill it was (for the most part).  I don’t think there’s ever been a more chill video of any of the boys, Mark, Jack or Felix that wasn’t serious.  It was nice.

I like the Bottleflip Challenge video pretty much because of the opposite reasons.  It was fun, it was loud, and Jack and Felix looked like they had a good time.

My favorite videos from Mark are i was lost... and the Slime Rancher series.  

The reason why I like the Slime Rancher series is not only is it a super adorable game that I love because it’s so squishy and cute, but also because that’s the first series that I watched of Mark’s.  I’m not sure if that’s the first video of his that I watched, but it was definitely the first series.  Because of that, I’m here now, in this community, having fun and (hopefully) making friends.

The reason that I like the ‘i was lost’ video is that it reinstated some faith that I had lost in Mark.  Don’t get me wrong, I never didn’t love Mark’s videos, but I could tell he was getting in to a rut.  So was I.  This video was him realizing what was happening, and making a promise to overcome it.  And look at where he is now.  Just released a freaking Choose Your Own Adventure, having the time of his life with friends and loved ones, exploring and trying new things.  It made me think about what I can do, and how I can try to achieve more.

The videos that I like the best from Jack are That Dragon, Cancer and The Last Guardian.

Even though I cried more when watching Mark’s play-through of That Dragon, Cancer, Jack’s hit home more for me.  Mark’s was touching, and I still cried like a baby, but there was something about Jack’s video that made it hit home for me.  One reason could be that his play-through of the game was the first one that I saw of the game.  Another could be that partway through the game, when he/the main character is looking through all of the cards, Jack starts talking about his grandmother.  That hit home to me, as my grandmother is aging more and more, and she’s having more surgeries, and my mom and my uncle are starting to prepare for the inevitable.  My grandmother has been around my whole life, and I see her multiple times a year, as my brother and I would stay out at my grandparents’ house a lot.  To think of her passing soon really does hurt.  I’m actually going to visit them in two weeks down in their Florida winter home, which I haven’t done since I was a wee lil’ babe.  My mom’s reasoning is simply that ‘it’s time,’ so I know what’s coming.  Jack’s play-through of the game has actually been sneaking its way back into my brain as of late.  It really did strike a chord.

I loved Jack’s play-through of The Last Guardian because it’s the first long episode series of his that I’ve watched.  I have yet to complete a single person’s play-through of Undertale.  Yup.  Shocking.  Anyway, I really loved the play-through of The Last Guardian because first of all the game is awesome.  I am in love with Trico.  If I could have a Trico of my own I would, no matter how big.  Even if it meant it was a situation of Elizabeth and Clifford the Big Red Dog, I’d do it in a heartbeat.  Plus, it felt like I was sitting right there with Jack when he was playing the game.  He looks a the camera so much during those videos, he connects so much with the audience, and I love it.  It’s so immersive, and it felt like Jack and I were just sitting there playing a game together.

So yeah, Day Four done! Woot woot.

And yes, I do realize that the prompt is for one favorite video, but I couldn’t decide so I did two.  There’s just so many to choose from!

Positivity Week - Day Two

Continuing this lovely person’s idea!

Yes, I know that this is late, but hey, I’m starting this at 11:54pm on Day Two.  I had a very stressful day of school and a band concert, so FITE ME.

I SHALL SPREAD HAPPINESS AND POSITIVITY EVEN IF IT’S AT MIDNIGHT!!

*ahem* anyhoo,

“How has Mark/Jack/Felix helped you?”

Well, again, I don’t watch Felix’s content or follow in his community, so this question is kinda void for him.  Oh well. :)

But, Mark and Jack have, and are continuing to, help me out.

I found the boys’ channels when I was going through a rough time.  I was just beginning to discover that oh crap, I have feelings, and I didn’t know how to deal with that.  Mark and Jack helped me through that by making me laugh and smile and bring up my spirits after a bad day.  They also taught me valuable lessons that I hadn’t learned yet, and that I still carry to this day.  Their more feeling videos, for lack of better wording, such as That Dragon, Cancer and The Last Guardian encouraged me to cry.  The game would get to a sad part, and both me and Mark/Jack would start to cry, and while I would be crying for the thing in the game, I would also be letting out what had been building up for however long.  I cannot thank the boys enough, and they still help me today.

That’s how Mark and Jack have helped me!  I know it’s pretty standard, but it really means a lot to me. :)
