This game is available on Steam for $19.99. Developed by Playdead.
This game begins with a kid who is seemingly on the run. You have to navigate this kid through this world while dealing with puzzles and things/people who want to kill you. It achieves all of this without any dialogue or other narration. This game leaves a lot up for interpretation.
Pros: Great art, great atmosphere, excellent rope physics, and it acts as a great example of narrative through game play. We were so enraptured with this game that we sat down and beat it in just two sittings (although it is a fairly short game to begin with).
Cons: Some of the design is a bit too obvious. By this, I mean that some of the puzzles do not seem entirely natural to the world in this game. This breaks some of the immersion.
Important note: There is more than one ending, depending on how you do with collectibles.
