On the advertised, but not as advertised by Greg Brown Via Flickr: Amtrak 792 departs Portland in October 1994. According to the timetable, it's 6:00 pm in the Rose City. Also, the timetable says this train is the Northwest Talgo. The trio of Superliners behind F40 AMTK 384 suggest that you shouldn't believe everything you read. That open area on the engineer's side of the train was once the site of Portland Terminal Company's Depot Yard. Today, the area is filled with condominiums.

Some real Amtrak geeking in Oakland. Northbound Coast Starlight is stopped on a clear Spring night and we're restocking the lounge, checking the HEP wiring between the cars, and apparently double-checking All Brite Brown's work on the Superliner Dining car's retention system.
