HOLY SHIT WE'RE ALREADY GETTING A SEQUEL
James Gunn has posted on X today that the Superman sequel script is seemingly completed. The draft date is today's date September 22nd, 2025. The date above the image reconfirms the original date Gunn has mentioned prior for release. July 9th, 2027 which makes it under 2 years before the film release.
All of that was previous information already known to the general public however the new bit of information seems to be teasing the villain. As the image is of the head and more specifically the brain, fans can only come to one conclusion. Brainiac. A villain that many have long been awaiting.
While it can be noted that news and now a draft of Superman's next appearance came quick it makes sense that DC studios would want to fast track the hero's next adventure. Keep it fresh but do make sure they quality of the content being brought to our screens is worthy of the quick turn around time.
Where Gunn is the head of the studio and a lot of what is happening outside of Superman is up in the air, I would not be opposed to him handing off directing duties for this one. He needs to be readily available as the head of the studio to make sure each and every film is entering production as it should. He does not need to be locked down on location or an editing bay for the next year and a half.
All in all I would say this is amazing news as Superman was a very entertaining movie that resonated with me. Gunn has the benefit of the doubt now given he has written this movie as well.
Man of tomorrow, the Superman sequel, hits theaters July 9th, 2027 !!!
Though we have just under a two year wait *cries* It makes total sense. They filmed Superman in 2024, the movie release and subsequent press tour in 2025 which is current. Then they’ll film the sequel in 2026, and release in 2027.
You can’t rush art, and I totally trust the process but me and my blue icee are already seated and waiting 💙💛❤️
P.s. The fact that they chose the same release weekend as the first one feels meant to be and I love it, so hopefully that release date sticks! 🙏🏼

Affleck as Batman - Film Maker's Point of View
Ok, everyone freaking about Affleck as Batman, I'm just giving you all my opinion.
I think everyone is comparing him to Christian Bale because obliviously he has set the current standards for playing the part and is everyone's current Batman. I feel like this needs to be said:
Guys, in the new movie it will be a different "reality" from the Dark Knight trilogy. That being said, Batman will not be the same. They could not cast Bale as Batman again because his Batman would not work for the new reality that was set up. The Dark Knight trilogy was too realistic for aliens, magic, and supernatural things that will more than likely be in the new movies.
I'm not saying that Affleck was my first choice, to be honest he didn't even come to mind when I was thinking about who I would want to be the new Batman, however I am willing to give him a chance. I'm interested to see what he does with the part. I will make my judgment after I see the movie.
I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I respect that. I'm not trying to bash anyone who does not want Affleck as Batman, I'm just trying to shed some light on why Bale was not chosen to come back since his Batman performance is the one that everyone is expecting. It's not going to happen guys and that's the point.
Sorry guys, film major over here. Just trying to help people understand the logic from a film point of view. Regardless of who they picked and no matter who it was, it was not going to be Bale.
who the fuck even cares for ben affleck being batman when we have perfectly perfect henry cavill in there
Kind of sad Jensen didn't get to be Batman and that Ben Affleck is going to play him instead
