I love August with its gold and pink sunsets, hot days and warm nights, the Sunday of summer…I wish it would slow down but my work situation for the next 10 days is very stressful & taxing, so I’m trying to power through it, hoping this work stretch goes by quickly…but I can’t do that without speeding through a big chunk of the month 😩 Last August I had long weekends to stay up late and sleep in and read fanfics (& write them too!) and go out and hike and I could go see Superman in theaters whenever I wanted and to be honest, I’m just missing that a lot rn…💙

I’ve been kinda MIA lately because my work schedule is all over the place and trying to plan around that eats up even more time and I’ve been in a mental fog and summer is flying (August is next week? What the f*ck) and I turn 30 in a month when I have no idea where the past 11 months since I turned 29 have went and..I’m tired

Ever since my sister told me that Lois Lane has a younger sister that casually dates Jimmy and eventually becomes Superwoman I’ve wanted to find out as much as I can about her, I think I’m about to go down a Lucy Lane/Superwoman rabbit hole (if she’s a prominent enough character to have a rabbit hole). Her storyline and evolvement really intrigue me but she’s more of a background character whose story is split over multiple eras and she’s littered throughout different issues that date as far back as 1959. So I have to cherry pick certain comics in order to find her…😩

Happy one year anniversary, Superman. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was sitting down at Regal watching it for the first time. My best friend had seen it the night before and warned me about certain Krypto scenes, so I almost didn’t see it.

Almost.

After work I decided to go, and I met up with my sister and best friend at Regal. Who had a Superman blanket and light up cup in tow (and it kept accidentally lighting up during the movie lmao). It’s safe to say that I thanked god that I actually went that night. I fell in love with Superman. I saw it 5 times in theaters, countless more at home. Now, a year later, I have an extensive comic collection. The Steelbook. I’ve written several fanfics and read hundreds more. Not to mention how it’s affected me emotionally. How it helped me emotionally. This film became a part of me & I’m so glad that it did.
