Billboard USA Exclusion Zone Episode 5 (03/11/2023)
You know I thought that the Karol G album bomb will be the biggest thing that happened this week. But, we have something special at the bottom of the chart. We'll get to it soon enough but first...
-------------------------------------------------
"TQG" by Karol G ft. Shakira
It's kinda impressive that twenty years since Shakira's first hit that she can still charting high like this. Even though this song is the worst song on the album which is just meh. Yes I did listened to the album.
27. "Tormenta" by Gorillaz ft. Bad Bunny
Going into this song I thought that it would be a cash grab to just chase the reggaeton train especially with Bad Bunny. But to my surprise, this song sounds like what Damon Albarn would make a tropical jam sounds like.
61. "Mientras Me Curo Del Cora" by Karol G
Oh yeah the song that sampled Don't Worry Be Happy. Do you all think that this song is an acapella to? Because I can feel that a lot of the melody is being played by vocals.
86. "Pero Tu" by Karol G ft. Quevedo
One of the most subdued song on the album. It's not really reggaeton but more like latin pop that you would get in the mid 2000's.
105. "Reminder" by The Weeknd
Oh look another song from Starboy that got traction worldwide because of TikTok. To be honest as someone who was on the music twitter back then I can say that Reminder is not a good singles when Six Feet Under exist. Basically The Weeknd in his brag rap mode is not it.
106. "Tus Gafitas" by Karol G
One of the best song on the album and that's basically have to do with that production. Now I want to hear more Karol G with at least pop rock sound like this
131. "Rara Vez" by Milo j
....Yeah I don't get this.
133. "Painting Pictures" by Superstar Pride
You know as someone who likes their underground hip hop, I'm still surprised that this song charted at all. Also did he deleted this song on his Spotify?
134. "Malas Decisiones" by Kenia OS
Think about what if you combine Doja Cat and Kali Uchis together but with just barely average production. You got this song.
140. "Manana Sera Bonito" by Karol G ft. Carla Morrison
Your standard reggaton song but this time you add steel drum. So much better than most reggaeton song.
141. "Por Las Noches" by Peso Pluma
Another week, another corrido song. This one is at least sounds fuller and kinda well produced. The emphasis here is the ballad of the song.
179. "Komang" by Raim Laode
You know the phrase save the best for last? Well since I'm Indonesian I'm gonna say this. I'm so happy for Raim Laode who joined Tulus as the second Indonesian to chart on Billboard Global Excl. US. Even though the song is decent, I have to respect my country to consistently stream this song kicking and screaming to chart here. Selamat Raim Laode telah muncul di tangga lagu Billboard.
I highly recommend everyone to listen to these songs
