I remember when I first saw Niles I thought he was like an actual poisonous frog, and thought that if he had a significant other and felt affectionate, since they wouldn't be able to touch directly it'd be cute if they found little ways to be affectionate even if it wasn't direct contact like in Pushing Daisies.
Aw nooo, that would be really tragic, but also really cute??? It still messes me up how Ned and Chuck dealt with not being able to embrace directly. ;~;
But yea, I don't know if I mentioned this before, but Niles is not poisonous, though he is based off a poisonous dart frog. Same applies to any others who are based off poisonous frogs.
This is because real poisonous frogs do not produce toxins in their bodies, rather they acquire them from the ants and mites they eat, and store them in the glands in their skin. So without that diet, they wouldn't be able to produce any poison.
