I will go actually FERAL for your intern design - sincerely, an Intern fictive
I'm also abnormal about them dw. - sincerely, an Intern kinny
Local newborn anomaly gets told they have to work for the hospital that fucked them over and infected them because that's the only way they'll get food without killing it themself and they REALLY don't wanna turn into some mindless flesh eating horror.
Good thing they form a friendship with a much older and kinder anomaly who will go out and get food for them when the hospital is actually doing really well and hasn't killed anyone in a while. And is more than willing to show them the ropes of being an anomaly for a cup of joe.
I feel like Casey jr would drop apocalypse lore and spoilers accidentally all the time without even intending to. One minute it would be fine and then he'd say something like:
"Mikey, just levitate to grab it off from the ceiling"
the first time that Eddie knew, for real, that Steve was it for him. Not only in a young adult, horny daze (how fun it might be) but in the soul crashing set in stone to never change kind of way.
Oooh, this one gave me the feels. And then it made me think. And then I had to turn it into a whole-ass microfic. Hope you enjoy, nonnie! ♥️🥰
In for the long haul

“Huh,” Steve says into his newspaper. He's freshly showered after his morning run, smelling of shampoo, and already in his coaching gear. Eddie, still sweaty and tousled, hums a questioning noise into his coffee. “Massachusetts is legalizing gay marriage.”
Eddie lets the mug sink. “Shit, for real?”
“‘parently so.” Steve's eyes flit back and forth as he scans the article. One hand pushes the peanut butter across the tabletop and Eddie takes it without thinking. “There's been a court ruling and all. They're giving them a grace period, but the first weddings could be as early as next spring.”
“Fuck,” Eddie mutters. Plants his naked feet on the kitchen tiles and searches for the crack where Steve dropped the casserole dish. “I mean that's… Wow. Crazy times, right?”
“Right,” Steve agrees, flipping pages until he finds the funnies and pushing the paper into Eddie’s numb hand. “Anyhow, I need to get going. Have a good day.”
“Drive save,” Eddie mutters, tilting his head up for a passing kiss. For a few seconds, he stares at the comics without reading. Behind him, the faucet turns on and ceramic clatters as Steve cleans his mug and plate. Eddie's left hand reaches for his mother's ring, feeling the smooth black stone under his fingers.
“You too,” Steve parrots, grabbing his lunch box from the counter. “You want me to swing by the Chinese place on my way home or- … Eddie? What the fuck are you doing?”
Because he has just turned and almost tripped over Eddie kneeling on the kitchen floor.
“What does it look like, dumbass?” Eddie grouses, and pushes the ring at him. “I’m proposing.”
“I see that,” Steve sputters, sinking to his knees and cupping Eddie's hands between his. “Why?”
Eddie’s face grows hot. Damn him and his poor impulse control. “Dunno. Because all this talk about marriage made me realize I wanna spend the rest of my life with you.”
Steve quirks a brow. Lets his gaze sweep over Eddie in his too-loose sweatpants and faded swim team shirt. The kitchen with the cracked floor tile, where they’ve shared meals and coffee and kisses for the past ten years.
“Took you long enough to come to that conclusion.”
Eddie’s blush, impossibly, goes deeper.
“Shut up, you asshole. I already knew … I guess.”
“You guess.” Steve's nose crinkles with the effort of restraining his laugh. Eddie finds it really hard not to kiss him.
“Yeah, well,” he shrugs, suddenly awkward. Kneeling is getting uncomfortable, so he settles cross-legged on the floor instead. Steve joins him, the early morning rush long forgotten. “I sort of never expected to end up in this situation, y’know? Even before the part where I was accused of being a satanist murderer and nearly got turned into demon bat fodder. Happily ever after and true love and all that shit? That was something that happened to other people, not the men of the Munson line.”
Steve frowns and opens his mouth to protest. This time, Eddie does lean in and steal a kiss.
“When I woke up in that hospital bed and you were there, I thought it was some kind of coma dream,” he says. “But you were real, and you wedged yourself into my life, and you stayed, even though I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Except it never did, and before I knew it, one year turned into two, and two into five, and five into ten, and… And now here we fucking are, I guess. Married in all but name, and I really, really wanna change that. Pack you up and drive you down to Massachusetts as soon as they let me, and make Steve Munson out of you.”
“Hey,” Steve says. “Why not Eddie Harrington?”
Eddie snorts. “Your dad would go fucking ballistic, honey.”
“Hmm,” Steve hums against his lips. “Exactly.”
“So,” Steve says when they need to break apart for air. “Chinese tonight?”
“Hell yeah,” Eddie grins, pulling both of them to their feet and slipping the ring onto his fiancés pinky before nudging him towards the door. “Extra egg rolls. We’ve got an engagement to celebrate.”
Someone asked me about my Mikey designs and I drew these in the dark at like 4am in between commissions so sorry about the truly terrible quality. @catsismyevilincarnated

— BORING BLOG UPDATE STUFF —
So this is probably the last post in a while. I’ve got a lot of commissions to do, and they will still be open, but idk at least for now I’m kinda done for a bit. I’m going to try and improve my art then come back because I’m hating it all rn, and I don’t have time to fix it quickly amongst the other stuff I’m trying to process.
I might then directly contradict this by deciding to be all sunshine and rainbows tomorrow, who knows. But at least until I finish up work it will be quite barren 😅. To be clear, I like commissions and they are still open! I just have a queue of quite a lot, which I have updated in my pinned post. And also I just cannot get into drawing anything without a prompt atm. Definitely not with my schedule.
