Finished scrawlrbox challenge for may 2021! pretty happy with it. This was a fun box. Small review of posca pencils under the cut:

The posca pencils came in 6 colours of a similar tone: Blue, purple, Red, Teal, Beige and grey. Not the best mix of colours for getting a big range but enough to get a feel for the pencils. The pencils have a wax core which I was originally worried about but it seems to be pretty stable - there were no broken leads despite me constantly dropping them and them being delivered by post. Like most wax pencils they did Not maintain a point for long but I found the point wore down faster than any other pencil I’ve ever worked with. So keep in mind you’d go through these pretty fast if you use them a lot. Colour went down thick and creamy - I personally prefer oil pencils but if this is something you look for these do achieve that well. There was no note on how light fast they are but they blended fairly nicely with solvent without loss of pigment. However they are ridiculously expensive at £20 for a pack of 12 and £2.50 individually. While nice if you can get them cheaper - definitely not worth more than polychromos or a price so close to Caran d’Ache lumianance. Performed better than prismacolor but thats not hard given the pencil lead didn’t break every two minutes.

Been using this fineliner a little more, and i am pretty happy with it. The bleeding is minimal, it's very smooth to use, almost too smooth compared to my old one so it's gonna take a bit to get used to. But definitely a great fineliner for the price!

Man, I dunno how I’ve lived my whole life without The Master’s brush cleaner and preserver .

This is not a sponsored post, I am just amazed by this product.

 When I was younger, I didn’t treat my paintbrushes very well. Partially because I was young and just didn’t think about it, but also because I was never taught (oh the joys of being a self-taught artist). I actually didn’t have the internet available when I began painting, and none of the books I read mentioned much anything about caring for paintbrushes.  I’d clean my brushes by swishing them around in turpentine and then scrubbing them with Dawn dish soap.  The result?  They were technically clean, buuuut… dry, crunchy, stiff bristles.  

I’ve had my old paintbrushes [not pictured] sitting around my studio in containers.  I knew I should probably throw them out, but just didn’t have the heart to.  I got some old makeup brushes (to try out as mop brushes) that I needed to clean, so I thought, “What the heck?  Might as well try out this brush cleaner on my old brushes while I’m at it.” 

I haven’t used these brushes since before my knees went out (what’s that been? 4 years now?).  This cleaner was able to get pigment out of the brushes, pigment that’s been sitting on them for 4+ years now.  No more crunchy bristles! I swear some of these are softer than when I bought them (cheap, generic paintbrushes ftw!).

They’re not good as new, obviously.  They’re still stained, some of the bristles are a bit warped.  But I thought I was going to have to throw all these paintbrushes out.  The Master’s brush cleaner has given them all a second life.  Not to mention, it smells amazing~
