all i want for 2026 is that gigantic rancid AI bubble to finally burst in such a catastrophic way that the consequences will be so good and i'll never have to see another AI generated image ever again
Like to charge, reblog to cast.
I don't have time for tumblr discourse they're calling the very hungry caterpillar degenerate art over on twitter
good art is when something looks like real life, the more real it looks the more better the art. abstracted figures give my trad children nightmares, one time they were exposed to cubism and couldn't go outside for a week
insalubrious???
Yeah. Fuck Eric Carle's unwholesome blobby art.
Jesus Christ.
I honestly don't think you could come up with a dumber take on the Very Hungry Caterpillar if you were literally trying to.
I bet this woman read the Ugly Duckling and her takeaway was that children need to be beautiful in order to be worthy of love, too.
Our A.Z. Fell & Co. and Get In Loser designs are getting one last print run before they ascend to retirement! If you've had your eye on either one, this is your chance. Orders close Monday, June 1st.
[A.Z. Fell Shirt] [A.Z. Fell Tote] [Get In Loser Shirt]
These have been some of our most loved designs over the years. Thank you all for giving them good homes!
I didn't think this was true because the people that owned this place seemed to do everything right~ until I found out that they decided to have several giant slabs of concrete (they're like 5 foot squares) laid over where the septic tank access opening is, and I had to spend like 3-4 hours digging in order to get at the secondary access point, which is also half covered by a cement slab.
So yeah, quite true.
His Majesty. Postcard from my collection, mailed 1907.
Indeed.
🏒Flying in from exotic Ontario, Canada, we have two new permanent residents in the shop - now with REAL photos and not just mockups!
You guys couldn't pick between Blue Dusk and Yellow Sunrise as your favorites (they were literally like one vote apart) during the presale; we took both to Emerald City Comic Con and they both sold out instantly. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the table to get one, seriously! (And a special thanks to that person who gave me the 'Stupid Canadian Wolfbird' phone charm bracelet, it's awesome and I never knew I needed one until now!)
We reprinted both colorways and have been meaning to update the shop photos for what feels like forever now, but life always has a way of getting busy after a convention. I promise they were worth the wait though, and now they're in the shop full time! Some comfy cotton tees with hand screen printed, water-based inks for a premium print that will last longer than it took for a certain pair of hockey players to figure out they were actually pretty into each other ❤️. Hand printed by me, the artist and a person who has watched the show a super normal amount of times since it came out.
Thanks to everyone who supported the presale and helped us narrow in on the final colors; for everyone else that might want one and missed out now you can see what they look like in person!
i miss my beautiful wife joann fabrics it feels as if eons have passed since i last saw her. this guy michael keeps waving her visage in front of me and saying she’s living in his house but he is lying to me. i know this because i went into his house and found only fragments and memories of my beautiful wife joann and pictures of her shadowed face labeled “online only”. michael won’t even let me order swatches from him
Only just realised I never posted this dumb doodle from 4 months ago. Here's pocket, ex-adventurer street alchemist NPC from my D&D campaign. He's the cheapest alchemist in Parvumarx!
I once played an Alchemist in Pathfinder that was the cheapest in the area. I had asked my DM if I could make a Kobold that just said he was an alchemist and had literally no skills in it, just made mud potions out of rainwater and stuff he found on the ground. I can't even remember what class he actually was on paper, rogue maybe? Literally all he was good at was lying.
My party was very dismayed mid-battle to find none of his potions worked (and they got an additional 1d4 poison damage cuz it's just scuzzy pond water in a bottle) but I think all the warning signs were there and they really only had themselves to blame. Never hire the cheapest alchemist in all the land, you'll just get gut worms. Or die. And I think that's an important lesson.
My brother in law recently became a veterinarian and it has really driven the point home as to how fucking bonkers veterinary medicine is. We don't expect human physicians to really know much outside of their own specialty - a dentist, an otolaryngologist, and a maxillofacial surgeon are three totally different dudes. Meanwhile a veterinarian at a wildlife rehab center is doing orthopedic surgery on a hawk and then doing rounds on baby hedgehogs in the hedgehog NICU and administering antibiotics to a ratsnake. And he also knows how to perform surgical interventions on a cow! What the fuck! Those are all totally, wildly different kinds of animal!!
Shout out to veterinarians, they know Too Much.
I always think about that one post that was like "how come the surviving doctors in zombie apocalypse stories are always veterinarians" and the reply "because veterinarians make 'not getting bitten by their patients' a core skill"
You also gotta figure that general adaptability is a factor. Like, try bringing up something with a Doctor that wasn't on the scheduled appointment, even just for a vague hint at what to do next. They always look at you like they couldn't possibly venture even a guess. Heck half the time they can't even figure out the original thing we're there for.
A vet has to be able to pivot, and I think that'd be a key skill in the zombie apocalypse.
why does it take SO much energy to keep your house only sort of clean
God right x_x what kind of Sisyphean curse is this. I can't even get rid of all of the dust or get my work stuff like... 30% tidy, and I am trying so so so hard.
Hey everyone ~ I've been lucky enough to know Kel McDonald for years now and make a few designs for them, and they have a new graphic novel up on Kickstarter as of today! One of the rewards is a t-shirt design I'll be printing about a ~✨pretty exclusive club✨~.
Kel has an awesome library of monstrous noir mysteries and oodles of great queer fiction, they put out awesome work and help a lot of other artists in the Portland area get their work to print as well - I wish I was half as tenacious! You should totally check out the new book along with all the others available online; I always get sucked right in to the dialogue and character interactions when I pick up a book from them at a convention =) check it out for yourself!
⏳ Last call for Ontario, Canada 🐺🦢 The preorder window for my Heated Rivalry Vacation tee is closing in three days ~ Hoodies, tank tops, and limited-edition colors will only be available until February 9th!
If you’ve been meaning to grab one but got distracted rewatching… or studying the boy aquarium 🐠 (I totally get it) this is your reminder to snag one before they’re off the ice! 🏒
Canadian Wolf Bird here to announce the frontrunner of our Heated Rivalry Color Competition! So far Mossy Blue-on-Blue is in the lead, but Blue-on-Black is right behind them, with Pale Sunrise not far behind! (Can you hear it in a sports announcer voice? I hope so)
It's actually a very close race, usually when we offer color choices there's a clear winner but so far these three have been only about 2-3 orders apart so I'm still not sure who will win ~ it's anyone's game!
We've added them to our Etsy shop as well so feel free to check it out there (links in bio)~ Don't forget this is the only chance you'll have to get them on Hoodies and Tanktops as well, after February 9th we'll only be keeping the t-shirt version in one color for the shop. Thanks again for supporting small handmade artists, it means a lot to us ~ keep warm out there, and happy skating!
Hey everyone ~ So, this is one of the things I've been working on for a bit now that I was really excited to share. I couldn't decide on a color because I wanted it to look like any shirt you might get from a National Park or any of those scenic tourist destinations; the kind of shirt you could wear anywhere and fly under the radar with, because who wouldn't love a little vacation getaway to scenic Canada? I know I'd take one right about now if I could lol.
We're running a pre-sale until February 9th on our website; after the most popular color will be available in both our store and on Etsy.
There's Snow White, Mossy Blue, and Pale Sunrise. I also couldn't resist putting together this unique colorway of the Mossy Blue on this Blue Dusk t-shirt; I think it's going to look super gorgeous! Because I know I have some regulars that really love our non-tshirt things, I decided to open up the pre-sale window to offer it on our usual zip-up hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, and tanktops as well. I can't carry this much inventory long-term , but since I'll just be printing what sells I can hopefully get everyone what they want at least for a limited time - after the 9th it will only be available on T-shirts and only in one color (and I have no idea which one will win out, so we'll have to wait and see!)
Let the Heated Rivalry of Colors begin!
Hey everyone,
I decided a long time ago that my online art space where I shared my work would be kept separate from my personal life; I've never been big on talking about myself or what's going on outside of things that I thought people would enjoy, like seeing silly pictures of my pets or a funny story. I just wanted a place where beauty, creation, and joy were the priority because I often come here for a break from everything else, and I wanted to be able to give that to myself and to others that need it too.
Opening the door to everything I feel about the world is kind of a Pandora's box for me; I've been deeply political and vocal about it since highschool, I've lost friends and family over speaking my mind rather than keeping the peace. I have a deep well of anger, grief and pain that I don't always know how to articulate in a nice way, and I get overwhelmed and frustrated by people that aren't even able to agree with things that I think are basic fundamental human rights. It can be really exhausting to be that person all the time, and I think that's why I held on to not bringing that part of myself into my art spaces for so long.
Minneapolis is important to me, it's where I went to art school and made friends for roughly five years. It's not my hometown, but it helped shape me and it's part of my history, and I'm grieving for what's happening there. What happened to Renee Good and Alex Pretti is devastating.
It breaks my heart because I know that the people that live in Minneapolis are some of the most warm, kind, openhearted people you could ever meet- and what's being done to them is beyond unjust. It's cruel, targeted, and unwarranted; I wish I was better at words of comfort or reassurance but I have no idea what to say to make myself feel better let alone anyone else right now. I just wanted to acknowledge that I see it happening, I'm feeling it too. I'm right there with you, and it's terrible.
I've been working on some different art pieces for the last few weeks, before these recent tragedies. Part of me doesn't want to post art at all anymore, making it lately has not come easy with everything going on in the last year - but I also know that the reason I love sharing my art online is that it can give people a little happiness and joy and I think that's something worth doing. We all need to keep our souls fed, and for me art has always been the best way to do that. Even if my words can't comfort you, I hope that my art can, even if just a little bit.
The urge to keep watching, sharing, and reposting is often our nervous system saying "this is unbearable and I don't know where to put it."
That urge makes sense, but it doesn't always help us, or anyone else in the long run.
If you're feeling as restless and activated as I am - If you're feeling that pressure that says, "I need to do something!" here are some things you can try that might help you regulate your body and help you sustain your resistance long term.
• Step away from the videos/images, but stay with their names. Light a candle, say their name out loud, write it down. Witness doesn't have to mean repeated exposure to graphic harm.
• Channel the energy into support, not spectacle: donate if you can, share vetted resources, mutal aid links, legal funds. Do it once, intentionally, instead of endlessly circulating the violence itself.
• Check on someone you trust. A simple "thinking of you. today has been heavy" builds more resistance than a hundred reposts.
• Move your body in a way that releases tension. Walk, stretch, shake, pace, breathe. Rage needs motion.
• Rest on purpose. Not because you don't care, but because exhausted people are easier to silence.
Bearing witness matters. Grief matters. Your rage makes sense.
But constant exposure to violence doesn't make us stronger. It wears us down.
We don't honor the dead by destroying ourselves. We honor them by staying human, connected, and capable of acting again tomorrow.
