Related to the support space question. Is it problematic for someone to say they've been through RAMCOA/TBMC if they cannot verify their memories or have only read online resources for this topic? Not asking this to invalidate anyone btw. I'm genuinely curious to hear your perspective.
It’s not problematic to me. It doesn’t impact me or our healing.
I’m not going to ask them to ‘verify’ their memories. I’m going to listen to them, support them, and accept them. Especially if my interactions are in a support space. (Except Svali the damage she has done as well as C.A.R.E needs to be challenged)
I would set boundaries if I had concerns with anyone and how I felt they were treating another person. I would set boundaries if I thought someone wasn’t being honest.
A lot of people research mental health issues online, and information online they are seeking answers. That isn’t incriminating.
If someone is untruthful that’s a reflection on them. Believing what someone tells you isn’t a shortcoming.
I would be curious as to what that person needs, what happened that brought them to the space, what do they hope to gain by sharing in that space.
There is a need that is being expressed and wants to be met. I’d work to see what that is and try to support them.
If they are being disruptive to a supportive space the moderators should address that. That means are they being disruptive or are the people who are disbelieving them being disruptive?
I’d be concerned about triangulation. Did someone tell others that this person is not being truthful? Did this lead to other people targeting the person? That’s gossiping and starting a toxic atmosphere in a support space.
Unless the person tells me directly they have made things up and been dishonest then it doesn’t involve me.
