[TASTE] - speak of this "marshmallow" manages to reach askr, and he knows instantly he must find his kin and get them to try it! though... unfortunately the marshmallow is prepared himself— and askr has no true awareness of what "burnt" food is. so, sharena is presented with a very gooey burnt mess of a marshmallow. "you must try this my dear mortal!" he says with an innocent grin, unaware of the disaster he may bring upon her taste buds. "the other mortals called this a 'marshmallow"... it tastes quite interesting!"

FAR BE IT FOR HER TO JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, but when Sharena casts eyes upon her god's singed and sticky marshmallow creation, she finds it a difficult rule to follow. She swears she can still see smoke rising from its burnt surface, swirling into the Midsommar night in silver wisps. She swallows— she doesn't want to hurt him. Certainly not during an eve as joyous as this. She must navigate this carefully.
"Oh! For me, Lord Askr?" she squeaks, taking the snack, "That's… that's so kind of you! I'm honored you thought to share it with me."
Sharena takes a deep breath. Thanking him was the easy part— truly, she is always grateful to receive any sort of kindness from Askr, especially knowing how much she and the rest of her kingdom owed to him— but consuming his gift without gagging seemed nigh impossible.
It would be wrong of her not to try, though, and perhaps more hurtful to avoid it. And so, having braced herself for its bitter impact, Sharena takes a large bite off of the marshmallow. It crunches uncomfortably beneath her teeth, and the molten pieces stick strangely around her mouth, but the more she chews, the more she realizes that…
"...mm-wow! This isn't bad at all!" Sharena exclaims, before scandalously putting a hand over her marshmallow-marred mouth. Gods! Had she completely forgotten what she meant to do? She adds hastily, "I-I mean! Not to say that I EXPECTED it would be bad… I'm just surprised at the flavor! You have a great sense for these things, Lord Askr."
