Lost and Found - Farina & Leanne
On orders to search the surrounding settlements for signs of infection, your party comes across a lone farmhouse. The woman who answers the door seems nervous, and you can see toys scattered about, but no sign of a child. She allows you inside to search, but you can’t help but feel that she’s hiding something. ♠ ~ Even Farina had to admit that it was a bit weird to feel relieved at finally being mobilized for a mission. Especially if it was for an over glorified search and investigate mission. Oh, there was all that noise about some weird crazy plague and villagers going all coo-coo crazy but eh, details. She'll figure it all out when she gets there.
What was more concerning to her right now was that she was actually feeling relieved that sanity won out and they weren't sending students and squires into the fray for this one. Was she actually starting to feel concern for these kids?
The mercenary couldn't help but shake her head a little in dismay. Man, she must've been doing this 'professor' gig for way too long. She was starting to go soft. In fact, she could almost hear that word follow her the whole way up.
A soft, whisper-y voice trailing on the breeze. 'Professor.' 'Professor.' It didn't seemed to be going away. Actually, hold up. Was she just maybe a little bit haunted? The purple-haired mercenary gave a nervous sidelong glance at her surroundings. A dreary forested path where you practically watch those great big shadows creeping in. If there was a better setting for a ghost story, she hadn't seen one yet.
No. That's stupid. What was she thinking? Ghosts. Ghosts weren't really a thing. Still, though, who on earth was it that was trying to get her attention? "Alright, what is it?", Farina grumbled, turning around quickly at the next mention of that word, fixing the speaker with a disgruntled glare. "This had better be good. I'm a busy gal, ya kn-"
The words died at her throat. She recognised her. Well, uh, not personally. Farina had made it a personal policy not to get too close to anyone. But she could recognise that long, beautiful, flowing hair and that pair of pristine white wings from a mile off. They were pretty hard to miss.
"Wait, hold on.", she whispered, stepping closer towards the winged woman, any trace of hostility in her voice quickly vanishing. "I know you. You're, uh..." Uh, what was it again? Lianna? Lene? Leygance? Barigan dang it, she was just awful with names. Never mind. Not important. "...A student, aren't ya? Well, what brings ya ou-No, wait. How are you out here? Didn't you get the memo? Big, giant crazy plague goin’ around. Stupid dangerous. Don't go anywhere without staff caterin’?” Well, some folks might have been able to bend that rule a little but she doubted whether Lean? here could pull it off. Those giant pair of wings were just more than a little conspicuous.
And really now, this whole situation was tense enough without adding a cosplayer on top.
