His level of professionalism is about as high as one can get. With that comes expectations, especially from the Artist, himself. It isn't surprising to see him sending a message to ARMYs about his live performance.
It was obvious that he was clearly aware of his pitch, when he pulled out the one earpiece while he was performing. It's how JK navigates as a singer, an artist, and a perfectionist. (As a person who is classically trained, I totally understand what he is doing and why.)
He will never settle for less than perfect. His ear won't let him. It's been said that he has perfect pitch, which again makes it really hard when the vocal chords don't quite hit like they are supposed to. It's the nature of the beast, as one might say.
More than likely there was some type of interference in the earpiece, from the background sounds (wind?), surrounding city sounds, the fans, or who knows what.... Plus, performing outside is hard because there's nothing to contain the sound. So if the earpiece or soundsystem were not quite right, when he pulled out the earpiece it may still have been hard for him to clearly hear himself, along with the musicians behind him.
Yes, he did a great job performing, with the cold temperatures, and with everything else he had to navigate. I think that he's just being totally authentic with ARMY, when he voices his thoughts about his performance. Yes, it's important for him to know that we loved it, AND it is important for him to feel comfortable enough to say that he'll do better next time.
He's always going to bring his best, and then look to improve it afterwards. That is his nature and he cannot do it any other way.
All we have to do is remind him how proud we are of his accomplishments. Also, remind him of how much he is loved, no matter what. Pitchy notes, and everything. 💜🐰💜
