Hibiki really needed to get his, in quote with his ex-wife, ‘shit together and be more prepared it’s the big city.’ As much as he hated to admit it, perhaps he should have bothered in looking at the map of Tokyo the night before instead of right now....In the middle of the after work commute by the looks of it. Crowds of people passing him by as he slowly managed to find a secluded spot at least to take time to stare at his phone.

I’m not lost, just...Frazzled, he reasoned as he dragged his finger on the screen and frowned as the map began to reload again.

“Shit...” 

This wasn’t his first time in Tokyo and honestly Hamamatsu was just as busy, but not as overwhelming...All he needed to do was just...Find his way to Kichijoji... The man was in his own little world that as he decided to step forward, he lightly hit the person walking in front of him.

“Ah! Sorry!”

@supportive-editor | Mame trots his way to Grimsby! This was a friend of Papa's right? But why does he smell like… Mame?! Dog-Human?! Either way, the Shiba paws at the man. Mame wants pets!

He feels the Shiba pawing at him. He truly feels one with the canines when a dog walks up to him and is intrigued by their scent. “Hey lil’ guy.” Grimsby gives the dog scratches around underneath its chin. Squishing their face a bit too.

“You look healthy.”

"Uuuh hey Jayden? I've been gettin' complaints about your behavior from the other reporters around the office--"

Shibu peeks his head into her cubicle. Yikes! She doesn't look to hot!

"What's this about--- Emptying the vending machine of it's energy drinks?"

Over half a day spent with no caffeine intake, however the state of Jayden's physical appearance and overall mood were far from seeing the light at the end of it all. No amount of carbonated drinks (caffeine free) or even hoarding the other options made her situation better. Forget about losing all concentration, the young woman could stand sitting still for even two minutes.

"GOD!! SHIBUSAWA-SAN!" Her body spazzed at the sudden presence of her co-worker, retreating further into the closed space. "Jeezus can you not sneak up over here like that!? I don't need a heart attack right now!!" As if she wasn't in danger of having one already...

"I c-c-c-can't...get...a GRIP on myself!" With hardly any focus throughout the day, her backlog grew more along with several video edits still a work in progress. At this rate, she'd be staying up for two nights straight just to catch up. "I need...s-s-something...to keep me FOCUSED! I thought this wouldn't be so bad..."

On trips to places such as Tokyo, Teddie tried his best to think like the locals do. At home he would rarely ever go to coffee shops and would start his morning with breakfast with family, but this was the city. City people were always up early to ride the trains and acquired fast breakfasts at fancy coffee shops such as this to meet that goal. Teddie swore that by the end of this trip he would learn the ways of the city. One city bear coming up! 

The problem keeping him from this humble goal was forgetting his wallet in his room. Welp, there was only one thing left to do. 

“I didn’t know this city had such beautiful girls serving coffee every morning. When I return home, this is what I’ll miss the most.” The barista, having heard similar pickup lines before, was not at all impressed. How cruel city girls were!

This conversation went on for a few minutes without either side budging an inch. Teddie didn’t want to have to return for his wallet and walk all the way back and the barista was not about to give anyone any free drinks. It was a blessing for both parties that Shibusawa interrupted when he did. The broke blonde was one more pickup line away from hearing from the manager. 

“Thank you, but I think I was winning her over.”

That’s a bold-face lie! Tell that to the taxi driver whom listened to their banter on the way home. Or when Jayden paid for the whole ride per her insistence. Even when Shibusawa-san felt sick, his persistence never faltered. 

Finally, after pulling tooth and nail to get him inside the door, Jayden got an answer. She briskly walked towards the bathroom with a clear goal of finding him some cold medicine. Pain killers as well, and making a pit stop in his kitchen to find him a snack or something he could nibble. It was harder reading the labels of some bottles due to the tiny, printed kanji. However, her phone gave her a basic outline of their meanings. Speaking the language felt much easier than reading sometimes. 

“I’m grabbing you some water too! You need to stay hydrated.” And stay in place. He’s not leaving until there isn’t a cough or a sneeze to be heard.

A curt, harsh response. Someone would have asked eventually, yet no one at her own office bothered to notice. Albeit a sparing few. Work took favor over the decency of being polite or caring towards your own co-workers. Even Shibusawa-san's work environment reflected much of the same from his past rants.

"No, I don't." Mismatched irises looked away from the older gentleman, instead taking more interest at some rowdy teenagers sitting a few tables over. "He hasn't called me since I started working in Japan. So I don't bother trying to contact him."

//I think just me wanting to appreciate like the supporting cast, the behind the scene folks, the customer service characters was why I decided to take on Waddle Dees as a ...idk how to describe it but like, a swarm...?

//Like people kept focusing on the fighters in smash, with the few assist trophy exceptions. And figuring that mansions USUALLY got staff to take care of cooking and stuff got me thinking that the Waddle Dees got that covered since they're HAL created and well, are known to serve King Dedede in mundane fashions in the Kirby anime and sort of in the games too.

//Of course now that services role is shared with Miis and other species too, and technically the Smashers can (or rather SHOULD) take care of their own messes, but I still appreciate the fluffballs and humanoids for helping to maintain a sense of cleanliness and sating hunger.
