Being born in the ninties, i had the luxey of growing up with the '89 and the 2k3 TMNT versions and the 1990 movies.

I was excited when 2k12 came. When Rise came i was lesser excited as the first looks showed it wasn't my beloved turtles i grew up with.

I've watched the first episode and had mixd feelings about it. I'd told myself give it a few months, maybe it get better. And it did.

I'd fell in love and for the first time in years i've joined another TMNT group. A discored group this time.

It's sad to see the show ending so suddenly as they still have so many stories to tell.

So, @nickelodon please consider to give the rights of Rise to @netflix and i'll throw some money for it to binch watch all the episodes if we get some more seasons like i've done for Young Justice.

Hear our cries, @Nickelodon!!

ROTTMNT Week

Day 7: #WhyWeLoveROTTMNT

The family dynamic is just sooo wholesome. The turtle brothers rip on each other, prank each other, get on each other‘s nerves, but whenever the moment calls for it, they are there for each other. They’re not afraid to show how much they love their family. Even Donnie…occasionally.

Splinter and Leo are so chill now. Neither of them are obsessed with the honor of the clan or being a good leader. They have their own desires and wishes and want to live life to the fullest. And they do just that. They do know when to get serious. Also the fact that Leo is basically Lou Junior is too precious.

April figuratively and LITERALLY kicks ass in this series. She’s not just the female character. She’s not the damsel in distress. She’s not just a typical secondary character. She’s actually part of the turtles’ action. April plays as a big sister to her turtle friends and shows them how the outside world works. And she’s also feels like an outsider at times among her fellow humans. In a way I can kind of relate to that.

The villains border from hilarious to generally terrifying and I LOVE that! Some of them, you know their backgrounds and how they came to be who they are and others are still a mystery. There’s a well balance of human, mutant, yokai villains. The human villains sort of represent that even humans are capable of monstrous acts while kind hearted mutants or passive yokais that mean no harm to the human population appear as monsters but they have souls and morals like the rest of us. 

The storyline, MY GOD THE STORYLINE. There are side quests and misadventures for the main characters. Yet it’s not played out to be obnoxious as steer attention away from the main story. The turtles want to become heroes-great ninjas and protect the city of New York and they try to take down evil from every corner from paper ninjas to a great ancient evil that the clan their father was born into has been tasked with doing for centuries. Each trial and fight they got into evolved them. They learn new skills and learn more about themselves and what they’re truly capable of. Starting from the beginning you think they’re just a bunch of silly mutant teens that want to slack off and mess around. And well yeah they do that, they are teenagers after all; but they also want to make a difference in the world, they want to help people and sometimes it is difficult given the fact that they are mutants and if they were to reveal themselves to humans….well the aftermath probably wouldn’t be very good. But that doesn’t stop them from going out to protect their city.

Well, this was a fun week! It’s awesome how we all got to show how and why love ROTTMNT  in our own way. BIG THANKS to Andy and the crew for bringing RISE into our lives!

To be honest, when I expected to be disappointed when I first heard of RISE. I’m glad I gave it a chance and look forward to more great episodes in the future.
