I rewatched the rottmnt movie and had a bunch of thoughts so here’s a rant that no one asked for (I freaking love this movie and how you can notice something new with every watch)

Y’know, I kinda wondered why an escape pod didn’t come for Raph. Sure, it could’ve happened off-screen while the camera was focused on Leo, but that doesn’t explain why he still has it. After all, if they could be deactivated to be used again, why didn’t Leo do the same thing and save his? So maybe Raph’s isn’t activated by Donnie’s signal, but his own. Perhaps in case someone needs to remain behind? Or if there was a malfunction? Or so he could be sure of his brothers’ safety before securing his own? Or. So he could make a final sacrifice without anyone watching or stopping him :)

Leo’s world literally crumbling around him when Raph’s revealed to have been kraangified (I’m sure this has already been pointed out)

Watching Splinter’s realization of the connection between the Hamato clan and Sacrifice, and that Leo is gone and this is what he’s learned from him in real time ;-; Actually I think everyone has a realization during Leo’s sacrifice

Raph having the same realization (“you’re one to talk, big bro. Hero moves are totally your thing”) Mikey and Donnie realizing that their brother is gone. They never saw this coming (and I wonder if that will affect their trust in him~) April realizing that she can’t save him and yet she still looks back Casey realizing that no matter the timeline, if given no other choice, his Master Leonardo will sacrifice himself again and again ;-;

When Raph is captured by the kraang and Leo returns to the lair, everything is echoey, like the sound is underwater. Hollow. And the same thing happens when Leo sacrifices himself. They’re missing something that isn’t there anymore— and the only thing left to fill the void is empty, hollow grief

Anyway. That’s all I’ve got :)
