I'm really interested about the troll named suraph... Is there a backstory about him?
O yes of course! He was taken from his lusus when he was still a little grub by a mysterious highblooded figure who had a passion for slicing off body parts and then mix and matching them on different bodies, i.e. a type of surgeon with an insatiable curiosity of seeing if different body parts worked with a type of body etc.(this highblood is still in early stages of being made so I just refer to him as "Guardian" lmao).
Anyways, Suraph is a gentle soul, being raised in the abusive light of his Guardian (as you can see from the multiple stitches on his body). Guardian likes to try different things, so he slices off parts of Suraph's body as a sort of punishment if he ever does anything wrong. This causes Suraph to be wary and cautious, as he still acts like a child and trembles in fear and cowers a lot. He was always scared, but Guardian wanted to make him happy, so he gave Suraph a chelsea smile so he's always smiling. The one time he made Guardian angry enough, he forcefully snapped his horn off with his bare hands, so he tries to do everything to make Guardian happy.
But Guardian likes to go out for weeks and look for new bodies and trolls to experiment on, so Suraph takes that time to sneak out and satiate his curiosity of the world when he's been so sheltered. He'll be caught eventually.
