Trance

This is another film I watched which involves hypnosis in a man who suffers amnesia after a blow to the head. He was part of a famous painting heist, when he tries double cross his partners he is hit on the head and forgets where he has hidden the painting. He is brought back to the group who force him to find the painting, he can only remember through hypnosis. The film unfurls in an uncanny manner, bordering on the surreal. As the story becomes hard to keep up with and we are tricked into thinking one thing and then finding out something else has happened. I really enjoyed the twists in the film and how the memories are uncovered using a 'box' within the box is an 'ipad' with the memory playing.

I would like to take some of the themes into my own work especially the ideas of suppressed memories.
