i am a firm believer in Young Hamlet but i also think it adds a really interesting level to him coming back home from school if the last time his parents (mother and uncle) saw him he was like. 17 maybe 18. and now he’s fully come into his own as an adult but they’re still trying to hold him under their control as one would with a young child. they try to teach him out of his emotions like he’s a child throwing a tantrum or a teenager controlled by moodiness but it’s been a long time since that was the case.
