dressed in a nice navy blue dress shirt and tie, a quick pace exits the elevator that brought him down from the fifth floor of the hotel. it was day one of the pediatric surgery congress. held in Houston this year, he had arrived on a plane from California late the night before, straight after a long day in surgery. a coffee cup is grasped in his other hand as he signs in at the front table. The attendant hands his name identification badge over which is immediately clipped to his chest pocket. upon walking into the overly large room filled with surgeons from all over the world. he knew the opening ceremonies would start soon, so he quickly grabbed the first seat he could find that was open. he sets his bag down in front of him, nodding at the man next to him, in greeting. blue hues glance to his badge, recognizing the short distance from each other's hospital by the city name. ❝ San Jose? can’t say I've ever been there but you’d think I would have been since it takes roughly TWENTY TO TWENTY FIVE MINUTUES to drive. ❞ accented words fall silent.
he decides to introduce himself. ❝ Doctor Johnathan Anderson, pediatric surgery at Stanford. nice to meet you - ❞ he extended his arm for a handshake, giving the man a small smile. normally he wasn't so quick to introduce himself. but usually, you made all sorts of new connections at these things, right? and of course, keep up to date with the latest medical & surgical advancements.
