keeping company || Emily & Rachel
Rachel's day had started out perfectly. She'd taken to wandering the city once again, taking in everything that she could because - after all - this would be her city one day. She would be one of those lucky ones with their names up in lights, standing ovations after every night. That would be her, she was sure of it.
Returning to her apartment, she hadn't noticed at first. Normally, Reno would have been at her feet, his front paws almost climbing up her legs in an effort for attention, to get in to Rachel's arms. But this time, he wasn't. And she just thought he'd been asleep. Finding the iPad had been a - surprise. Surprises, it seemed, was a thing here. Flicking on the message, she barely listened to the rest of it before she stormed through her apartment, calling out for her puppy whom was no where to be found. In hindsight, freaking out as she had was probably not the best reaction, but she didn't care. This was Reno and Reno - Reno was important.
She probably would have turned the building upside down if it weren't for Emily. Somehow, someway - Emily had managed to somewhat calm her down. And now she was coming here, to keep her company and - comfort her. Rachel hadn't had that before. Arms folded, eyes downcast and a pout placed firmly on her lips, she unlocked her front door and made her way to the sofa, curling up and sniffling pathetically as she waited.
