If she just stayed still and didn’t make a sound, maybe the pearl wouldn’t think anything was off about her. Of course, any Gem with half an ounce of knowledge would quickly work out that Carnelian was off colored. That was why she was trying so hard not to get noticed. She didn’t want to have it pointed out. That was especially the case while a pearl was about. Carnelian didn’t know whose pearl this was, but she could call her owner and question why an off colored Gem was there at the zoo in the first place. Most Gems didn’t spare off colors. Blue Diamond had because she was supposed to belong to Pink.

Eventually, though, Carnelian couldn’t stand as still as could be anymore. She wobbled, and seconds later she stumbled a bit. Well, so much for that.

“S-Sorry...” She stumbled back into her previous position and hoped for the best.

♢ ||  She heard her name, but it was hardly her anymore, was it? The concern in her voice was factored out and all that was taken into account was that she was addressed by another. Her pose doesn’t falter. She hardly looks at the other.
