7:20 a.m. Dickson Street While out for an early morning ride, mild mannered bicycle hedonist Jay Phillips encounters the 100% chance of pea sized shot gun blasted hail inside the 8% chance of rain this morning and takes shelter under the nearest awning. He is immediately joined by a delegation from the up all night brigade trying to remember how keys work before the sun clears the clouds and they burst into flames. Meanwhile down at the back door to JJ’s, a pair of feet stick out of the alcove and repeatedly shout “Will someone give me a F%*KING CIGARETTE?!?” As time and gusts of rain shine hail fire continue to pass by and the damnable keys continue to thwart entry into the bar, a friendly grifter saunters up to the late night pair and inquires, “Is the bar open? I’m ready for a keg stand!” “Me too!” says the eager aperture supplicants. Grifter- “You too what?” Door people- “What?” Grifter- “You wanna do a keg stand too?” Feet down the way- “I want a f@&king cigarette!” As I note the sky has relented in it’s attempt to abrade the flesh from my bones, I take my leave and wish the folks a good day before I bike away. It’s day 16, and I think I have fully exited the realm of the rational. To be honest, I’m not sure how I got here. The last thing I remember was trying to send you a message while hiding from a giant cat in a 40 ft garbage mech. It occurs to me that a cat’s brain to body mass ratio is not so high (and most of it is used for things like stealth and neck biting which are not easily translated to piloting) so I figure I was probably able to just hide out somewhere? I do remember something about moving a metal plate, a trapezoidal shaped job, climbing into a similarly shaped tunnel, then nothing. Darkness. At some point I woke up here. Judging by the surreality of the scene, my lack of pain in spite of the giant hole in my chest, and the overall unnatural calm here, I am willing to entertain the idea that I might be…well..dead. If this is death though, it kinda sucks. The only upside is that as these weird catbugs cycle through me they seem to be producing music. In fact , I even occasionally hear the @hangingdilettante Bad Ghost and deduce that they must be somehow tapping into the @unxigned playlist Rad Finds. Don’t believe me? Thanks to Rhiannon I am rocking a very comfortable face mask with 3 micron protection and the nose piece mold to the nose. Filters are replaceable and this is washable, also reversible.
