I’m an inveterate book borrower, whether it be from a public library or one of the many free book sources. When choosing a book to read I struggle to remember whether I’d previously read a book when teasing a book off the shelf – authors John le Carre and Donna Leon always present a problem as I’ve read so many of their books, and often found that I’d chosen a book I’d read before. A solution…

I do love libraries, even small ones Lucky ol' Lightwater having its own library, when so many others have closed. I'm not a regular there, as Camberley Library offers more choice. Perhaps I should check out Lightwater Library's stock. Maybe there's a gem, or two, there for me to enjoy.

Not sure if you know about this – both Frimley Green and Lightwater libraries have changes to their opening hours approved. Lightwater Library will be open for additional 3½ hours a week, opening for 17 hours a week. Up from 13½ hours. The past few weeks have included meetings, workshops, applications and new classes. My proposal for a Surrey Libraries project has been shortlisted which is exciting news. I had a great meeting with Commotion Dance about future projects and time management as someone who has many different roles. And last week I was part of a commission by Gary Clarke, creating a piece called The Soundtrack To Lives. At some points a difficult week as all the material came from our own autobiographies, it was fantastic to witness Gary's creative process, his quick decision making and his ability to throw his planned ideas out the window! It was also my first time working with the voice, something which I'd like to carry through to my own work.
Coming up I'm working with StopGAP Dance Company to create a duet with one of their youth dancers and next week I'm off to watch the Place Prize!
