I'm really interested in old headcanons and theories about the characters and lore of the show that was common in the fandom at the start, but died out as they were proven wrong/contradicted (e.g. I remember reading a whole meta about how Gabriel could not be Hawkmoth due to the position of the lair, and there was a theory that Hawkmoth was Alix's dad that got used in several fics). If there's a way to research/preserve those bits of ML fandom history, I'd love to see it!

We remember those too, it was such an interesting time before season 2 aired when we didn’t have confirmation that Gabriel Agreste is Hawkmoth! We’d love to do a deep dive into old fandom theories, thanks for the suggestion!

Would you also research the reasons behind fans commonly associating/writing Chat Noir as a typical criminal/villain in fan works despite Marinette having shown more criminal tendencies in canon than him? XD (stealing phones, climbing over walls of people's homes....etc.) The answers may be obvious but there may be some aspects that weren't yet explored

We would love to explore fanon trends in comparison to what’s stated in canon! Just collecting data, however, isn’t going to give us the actual reasons fanon trends are popular, so we just want to clarify that while we are hoping to present interesting data about the fandom to you all, it’s important not to jump to conclusions. We all have our own biases and we don’t want to confuse our research for objective truths about the fandom

are you going to do whether people like Zoe (after she's introduced)

Once Zoé has been established as a character in canon, we would definitely like to explore fandom’s perceptions and opinions of her! The same goes for all other newly introduced characters, we’d really love to track people’s initial reactions and how those opinion might change over time!

Can we have a survey that asks us our favorite and least favorite costume/outfit for the miraculous holders and akuma victims?

We can definitely try and incorporate costume preferences into one of our surveys!

Will you also document trends like the ml wing au adrichat pink hair Adrien too?

That could be such an interesting area of fandom to investigate and record! We’ll have to see as new trends arrive how best to archive them, but thank you for your inquiry!

The survey coming out tomorrow is already finalized, but we can keep this in mind for future research! Thank you for sending in your interests, this would definitely be an interesting topic to explore!

Now that Gang of Secrets has arrived, will this impact future surveys about identity reveals? And will there be questions about fan attitudes about specific key show moments, such as the "this is the reason we can't reveal" part in Cat Blanc (which I think is BS :P)?

We didn’t necessarily have a survey planned to go in depth about identity reveals so that won’t be affected, but we would like to have shorter surveys that ask about fan attitudes about key show moments. At this point in time, we’re not sure how we’ll be able to conduct those surveys. They are a bit more tricky to plan out since the episode release schedule for ML is so unclear and since some people will only watch episodes in a particular dub that may not air for another several weeks/months meaning we would either have to have surveys stay open indefinitely or we would have to recognize that only a small fraction of the population of people who answer our surveys could respond.

What's the best ship that involves Marinette/Ladybug/Adrien/ChatNoir and isn't apart of the love square?

Our first survey has a question that touches on this a bit, but we can definitely expand research on it at some point to look into it more! Thanks for your suggestion!
