information about frank:

wife died 5 years ago from pneumonia.

has two children that also live at the province ; a son and daughter.

head lead for the soldiers ( sergeant ) and years ago appointed rhys as the commander because he trusted him.

daughter tells him he needs to move on from their mother, but he just can’t find himself to do it.

martial arts expert learned from a person that once lived at the province not long after he got there. excels in hand-to-hand combat and ended up teaching skylar.

always looks like he’s angry, but has a heart of gold. he’s nice to practically everyone and tries to see how they’re doing.

secretive when it comes to his own feelings, never wanting people to worry about him. especially his children.

has lived in the province for 18 years.

loves ties and over the years scavengers that know it and find them while out bring them to him. he wears them whenever not going out for a patrol because the first time he wore one, his wife said it made him look dapper.

thinks of everyone in the province as his family, always protective and becomes a different person when anyone tries to come in and threaten any of them.

Austin’s parents were from the providence, but were incredibly rebellious as teenagers. Their parents (and the rest of the community) thought they would grow out of it, but they didn’t.

They hated the job listings and the control. They hated the rules. They wanted to go somewhere where they could do whatever they wanted. So, they abandoned ship and took off.

They lived on the outside for a long time, crazy and madly in love. They joined a large group and found joy in hunting other survivors, then taking their stuff. It was no place for a child, and they both knew it. So, when she became pregnant, Austin’s father took him back to the providence. He simply handed him over the wall and turned away.

Austin knows he was abandoned by his birth parents, but he was also adopted. The was cast away, but then someone came along and decided that they wanted to take care of him. They chose him, decided that he was special... and that was more than enough.

He had a lesiure life, or at least as easy as a life in this world could be. His adoptive parents didn’t force him to work until he was 18, so he had a lot of time to pick up things like dancing, and stand up comedy. He liked making people happy, making them laugh. There was no life without laughter.

He couldn’t decide on a job so he went to work in the kitchen, and he seems to have a natural talent for it. He really likes cooking. He may not be the smartest guy or the toughest, but this was his way of giving back to the community.

His adoptive parents refused to tell him the story of his biological parents, but he found out anyway from one of the older memebers of the group. He was so shocked, because he loved being at the providence. He didn’t understand how they could hate it so much. He was also more than thankful that they brought him back, because he wouldn’t ever want to live out there.

Austin is asexual and panromantic.

( SP / 21 / PST ) * ̖́- 

Sabrina was born at another southern providence. Her parents were main figures at this providence and the whole family carried a lot of prestige.

The providence she was born and raised in was fairly unstable when it came to population. People would come in in mass numbers and then leave or be killed in mass numbers. This would mess up the job system and providence economy every time. Job shifts would be missed and things wouldn’t get done. They would lose crops and run low on resources, which caused tension in the community. There was hardly any regulation, and everyone suffered because of it.

When she was a teenager, she tried to talk to her parents about a reform. The people who lived there deserved a stable environment. However, her parents didn’t want to change. They felt regulation of any kind was unfair.

There was a lot of unrest when a large group of people didn’t come back from the exploration mission. This mission was coordinated by her parents, and went severely wrong because they didn’t think everything through. Over 50 were killed, and the rest of the community was furious.

Fists fights erupted in the courtyard, people began stealing from each other. A few were even beaten to death over resources. There were many threats towards her and her family, swearing that they were going to ‘pay for the suffering they’d caused’.

Her parents did all they could to protect her, but she knew it wasn’t enough. She wanted to leave. She was in her late teens at this point, and though she hadn’t spent but two minutes on the outside, she could see it was safer out there than it was in the providence. Her parents told her they wouldn’t leave, and that they’d work it out just like they had before. Sabrina though, had little faith.

She was able to get in contact with a Canadian providence via an ancient radio, and set off in the middle of the night. She stole the weapons, food, and water she would need to get there.

She spent a lot of time on the road, alone. She walked a good portion of the way up into the Canadian region, because many of the vehicles strewn about wouldn’t start. The outside was a lot different than she thought it would be. It was grusome, yet beautiful. She could see nature taking over what used to be the hubs of human society. Nature was taking back what was hers, and though frightening, it was serene.

She spent many years on her own, because though she set up to go to the other providence, she was actually reluctant to join another society. She’d done well for herself, and met a couple of other trustworthy survivors. They worked great together and they had everything they could ever need. Not to mention that they were highly mobile, which Sabrina appreciated.

It wasn’t until they were attacked and separated that she reverted to her original plan to go to the providence. She felt hopeless and alone. There was really no other choice.

She joined this Canadian providence and began her life there as a nomad. She would take easy, but back breaking jobs because she didn’t want to be on the outside anymore. She was too scared. It took about a year for her to muster up the courage again and enlist as a scavenger.

She is bisexual and biromantic.

( godfrey gao / male / he/him )   —  did ( skylar reznick ) just enter the province ? the ( 30 ) year old has been around for ( twelve years ) . around here, they find some peace as a ( soldier ). their peers have mentioned they can be ( headstrong & passionate ), but also ( neglectful & hurtful ). will they let the province change them ?

some little tidbits:

parents died two years after reaching the province.

skylar has no siblings.

parents death is the reason he became withdrawn and cold, also why he chose the path he did.

probably one of the few that’s been in this province the longest.

wants to protect everyone and he will easily sacrifice himself to do so.

even with wanting to protect everyone, he’s still an asshole to almost everyone he comes into contact with.

skylar is blunt to a point that he’ll hurt people’s feelings, but he finds no reason in sugarcoating the truth and likes to get right to the point.

whenever he manages to sleep, there’s always a gun beside him and one beneath his pillow along with a knife.

wanted connections and such:

honestly, anyone that can crack through not only that hard shell of his, but that damn thick layer of ice around his heart.

as well as some friends that he might confide in, just a little bit.
