He peaked around the corner to try and get a glimpse of what was going on. “Yeah, I’m sure.” He was grossed out by it, that was for sure. It probably wasn’t the best thing to be grossed out over in the world they lived in. It even made him feel faint when it was his own. He took the rag from her and began to clean up. “It’s okay. What’s going on in there? If there’s this much blood, it must be dire.”

Austin’s parents were from the providence, but were incredibly rebellious as teenagers. Their parents (and the rest of the community) thought they would grow out of it, but they didn’t.
They hated the job listings and the control. They hated the rules. They wanted to go somewhere where they could do whatever they wanted. So, they abandoned ship and took off.
They lived on the outside for a long time, crazy and madly in love. They joined a large group and found joy in hunting other survivors, then taking their stuff. It was no place for a child, and they both knew it. So, when she became pregnant, Austin’s father took him back to the providence. He simply handed him over the wall and turned away.
Austin knows he was abandoned by his birth parents, but he was also adopted. The was cast away, but then someone came along and decided that they wanted to take care of him. They chose him, decided that he was special... and that was more than enough.
He had a lesiure life, or at least as easy as a life in this world could be. His adoptive parents didn’t force him to work until he was 18, so he had a lot of time to pick up things like dancing, and stand up comedy. He liked making people happy, making them laugh. There was no life without laughter.
He couldn’t decide on a job so he went to work in the kitchen, and he seems to have a natural talent for it. He really likes cooking. He may not be the smartest guy or the toughest, but this was his way of giving back to the community.
His adoptive parents refused to tell him the story of his biological parents, but he found out anyway from one of the older memebers of the group. He was so shocked, because he loved being at the providence. He didn’t understand how they could hate it so much. He was also more than thankful that they brought him back, because he wouldn’t ever want to live out there.
an arrow to the leg made for a messy station, and that’s exactly what had came through today. her ears are still ringing from the pour guy’s yelling. she drags a rag over the stainless table, sighing softly as it turned red and soaked. she turns, eyes on the ground until she collides with someone, and her blood drenched towel presses into them. “ oh crap, i’m so —- i’m sorry, this isn’t . . sorry. here. “ she turns quickly, moving to discard the dirty one for one unused and she hands it over.
Austin had the ability to be in any place, doing absolutely anything, yet think about nothing. That was an odd quality in this time. Sometimes he’d start walking and end up at his destination with no recollection of actually getting there. Some may say he had a memory issue, but he thinks it’s a superpower. And that is exactly what he was doing when he was walking passed the medical station.
Bumping into someone and feeling something warm, wet, and sticky against his arm made him audibly sound his disgust. He frowned, but it vanished when he saw the vaguely disgruntled girl in front of him. “Oh don’t worry, that’s okay. It’s my fault anyway.” He said, trying to wipe the blood off his arm, but only managing to spear it around further. He looked at his now bloodied hand in defeat and then turned to grab her a clean towel with his other hand. “Here you are, fresh and ready to go!”
the girl groaned slightly before rubbing her eyes as she stepped towards him. “what makes you think i would be able to help with an animal? i’m a nurse!” she said to him quietly before nodding as she dug into a drawer and pulled one out. “lets go.”
“Animals are basically people, they have feelings and stuff. They just can’t talk.” He said, turning around and heading back to his room. “And it may be hurt? It woke me up and scared me so I threw a pillow at it. Not sure if I hit it though.” Austin was reluctant to say that last bit because he felt bad and thought she may judge him.
“it’s three o’clock in the morning –– you better have a damn good reason for waking me up.” gideon said as she rubbed her eyes and walked out of her room. “you have three seconds to speak.” it was a pointless threat, even if she wasn’t super tired, gideon wouldn’t have done anything.
“Hey!” Austin said in a hushed voice, crouched down near the entrance to her room. “Yeah, I know. That’s why I came to get you. I think there’s some kind of animal in my room! I left the window open and now shit is falling over and there’s rustling... it’s dark so I can’t see.” He sighed. “You got a flashlight?”
