 she  wanted  to  be  able  to  say  the  same.  she  wanted  to  be  able  to  have  confidence  in  him...in  THEM.  it  was  clear  how  he  made  her  feel  but  she  wasn't  sure  if  she  was  on  the  right  side  of  it  all.  it  didn't  feel  like  it  when  being  with  him  meant  turning  her  back  on  people  that  had  SUPPORTED  her.  people  that  LOVED  her.  and  yet,  how  many  of  them  had  looked  at  her  the  way  he  was  looking  at  her  now?  like  she  was  some  ethereal  being  and  not  a  twenty-three  year  old  who  had  made  more  mistakes  in  her  young  life  than  she  cared  to  admit.  he  didn't  see  any  of  her  scars  or  her  flaws  ( or  if  he  did  they  didn't  matter );  only  she  mattered.

 " and  what  about  you...? "  toni  asked,  glancing  down  at  her  feet.  she  felt  SMALL  before  him.  he  had  such  a  presence  and  it  shook  her.  " are  you  going  to  be  my  MISTAKE? "

“I’ve never felt alone since you came into my life.” - Tommaso (survivaliists) to Becky

 they  called  him  the  black  heart.  all  because  he  was  in  it  for  himself  –  but  who  in  this  world  wasn’t?  who  could  call  themselves  TRULY  selfless?  becky  didn’t  fault  tommaso  for  his  actions.  not  when  it  had  gotten  him  this  far.  not  when  he  was  standing  by  what  he  believed.  much  like  herself,  he  hadn’t  gotten  a  fraction  of  the  recognition  he  deserved  until  he  SNAPPED.  and  if  that’s  what  it  took  so  be  it.

 they  were  cut  from  the  same  cloth  and  that  brought  a  comfort  she  hadn’t  felt  in  a  while.  she  used  to  feel  it  with  the  horsewomen  in  nxt,  even  when  they  were  at  each  other’s  throats.  they  were  in  it  together.  they  all  wanted  the  same  thing,  fighting  toward  the  same  goal.  it  brought  a  CONNECTION.  but  they’d  drifted  apart  and  she’d  be  stuck  in  place…lost…until  she  accepted  her  new  role  as  a  dominate  force  in  the  wwe.  there  she  found  that  same  cloth.  just  as  ripped  and  torn  as  her  but  still  WORTHY.  the  truth  in  his  words  resonated  with  her.  they  weren’t  alone.  they  didn’t  have  to  be  anymore.  someone  understood.

 her  hand  gripped  the  back  of  his  neck  and  her  forehead  pressed  soft  against  his  own.  for  a  moment  they  just  breathed  soft,  warm  breath  mingling,  before  she  spoke.  “ it’s  because  ye’re  not…ya  never  hafta  be.  anyone  t'at  says  otherwise’ll  have  me  ta  deal  wit’…promise. ”

“There’s this couple’s contest, and I know we’re not dating, but the grand prize is this big ass load of food– help me.” - Buddy (survivaliists) to Toni

 at  twenty  three  years  old  there  were  few  things  toni  took  seriously  in  her  life;  she  figured  the  “ADULT”  portion  of  her  life  would  come  one  day  –  why  rush  it?  what  did  she  have  to  really  stress  about?  but  competition  and  food  were  two  things  that  she’d  take  seriously  no  matter  what.  she  had  a  nasty  habit  of  turning  most  benign  things  into  a  competition  and  her  food  habits?  well,  she’d  made  even  a  few  of  the  male  wrestlers  gawk  at  how  much  she  could  put  away.  a  true  talent.  perhaps  that  was  why  the  moment  that  the  offer  was  put  out  by  buddy,  her  face  STEELED.  lips  pursed,  brow  knit  together,  her  jaw  tense.  she  meant  business.  with  a  curt  nod  she  was  in  and  full  of  confidence.

 " we’ve  got  this  in  the  bag.  it’s  TONI TIME…and  you  too,  'course. “
