Take Every Thought Captive
When a fearful thought comes into our minds, we take that lie, turn to the Word, find the promise, and then declare the truth. When the enemy tells us we’re no good or defeated, we take that lie, turn to the Word, find the promise, and the declare the truth. When all the circumstances around us scream defeat and failure, we take that lie, turn to the Word, find the promise, and then declare the truth.
Taking every thought captive is a discipline. We must guard our hearts and minds. We must be alert to every notion that enters our thinking and measure it against God’s Word, which wins the contest every time!
Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
Philippians 4:8
It Begins...
I (or correctly, my boyfriend) decided that today will be the start of our Daniel Fast. Already at 9am I am struggling with the food element, but my desire to know God better is a driving force. I will begin a devotional through The Daniel Fast book I have been reading (by Susan Gregory).
Are we, you and I, examples of the abundant life in Christ so that the hungry want what we have? Is the church offering the food that hungry people need so they can partake in the only Bread that will satisfy their hunger forever? Do the hungry even know that we have food?
