I watched the Good Morning Britain interview with Hatari and god it was awful.
And as a Eurovision fan I found it slightly offensive.
I wasn’t expecting miracles and I found the interview with Hatari okay - like by UK standards and not the Eurovision fan in me standards.
But then afterwards, in the studio Piers and Susannah start talking about Australia and why they are in the contest and make some comments mocking Hatari and Richard, the interviewer in Tel Aviv is laughing. The end of it just felt like they were mocking Hatari while they were still there.
I don’t know if Hatari could hear what was going on in the Studio or not.
But...this is why it’s hard being a Eurovision fan in the UK and why it’s hard and seems unlikely that the UK will be able to change public perceptions when you have media outlets like this trying to seem cool.
