SuSE Linux 7.0 (2000)
I heard SUSE is putting up for sale at $6 million dollars according to EQT. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing, but let's hope they don't put AI slop onto OpenSUSE, so we'll see.

SUSE has been privately owned since its inception, openSUSE operates almost entirely independently. They are more separate than Redhat and Fedora. It's unlikely a purchase of SUSE would result in any meaningful changes to how openSUSE operates.
Mi-mai, mon cousin Olivier et sa compagne franco-américaine Bonnie, sont venus me voir. D'où une visite obligatoire au Louvre-Lens :

So I have been trying to migrate to openSUSE due to the Red Hat disaster and I have mostly learned package naming scheme and how to use Zypper (I was under the impression Zypper was faster than DNF, its not...)
Now I have been trying to migrate my server on Oracle Cloud (the free tier has 4 cores and 24GB of RAM!!!) but they don't have anything SUSE (there is a SUSE images tab, but its empty), so I have been making a custom image.
Of course, the free tier CPU is ARM, so I have been through the hell that is trying to make an ARM VM on QEMU, setting up the firmware and the install ISO, only to remember how painfully slow emulating ARM on x86 is.
I have been hours dragging through the installer, don't even have graphics, its all been through the TUI (which admitedly is nice, not as nice as Ubuntu installer TUI though).
Explains how to enable rc.local shell script support in /etc/ directory on Linux at boot time when using systemd as init to execute scripts.
Are you missing the /etc/rc.local file support on major Linux distros? Fear not. We can easily enable rc.local shell script support on systemd init while booting the Linux system. Read more: How to enable rc.local shell script on systemd while booting Linux system
